Description
Something to make you smile.I'm sure you can relate - this is the feeling I get when I just don't want to get out of my nice warm bed and I just want to sleep forever!
Traditional lines are win. These were done with a 0.5 point micron and I love the effect. So thick and totally gorgeous! This was my first time using my 0.5 for inking.
Press DOWNLOAD to see it properly if dA's being a bitch and not allowing the bg to be transparent. Alpha channels dA! Blogger allows them!
How do you extract lineart from a sketch? Well, first you need a version of photoshop in the CS range. I use CS4 at Capilano, where I scanned, extracted and coloured this. Anyway, first thing to do is go into CHANNELS and turn off the colour that you used for your sketch underneath your l precious lineart. ALWAYS SKETCH IN COLOUR. You can't get rid of graphite in this extraction method!! For sketches, I love red. It's easy to get rid of.
Once your art looks black and white thanks to your channels tab (which isn't permanent btw - it'll save in full colour) go CTRL>L to toggle 'levels.' Fiddle around with that and make the lines look crisp & dark.
Zoom in so your masterpiece of lines fits the screen. Now screenshot that puppy (CTRL>ALT>
Now go SELECT>COLOR RANGE and select white with a 200 fuzziness. Marching ants shall now appear. Press DELETE. Deselect by pressing CTRL>D. Magic. You now have extracted lines.
Hope that helps!
