Description CONCEPT ART!

This bronze statue - scarin' the ever lovin' shit out of foreigners/immigrants entering Serenity in Escavia, Rimer, since about 30 A.G.

Design Notes:
- This statue gets the cake for SCARIEST freakin' statue EVER. It's famous.
- You have to look at this thing if you're coming through customs and it's placed in such a way that it stares STRAIGHT AT YOU.
- Kayoss approves of this statue.
- It's largely believed by the general public that it's a human Kayoss has just ripped the throat from in this (this statue is much more graphic than this sketch implies) but it's actually a copper elf. No matter which way, it gets a point across.
- Every year there's a petition to have this statue removed by citizens who are concerned that it's too graphic. Every year, that petition is completely ignored and thanks to the fact that this statue is made of bronze, it's too heavy for the public to do anything to it.
- Chartani citizens, who don't believe in the native Rimarian pantheon of gods, especially hate this statue. Unfortunately for them, the government doesn't care.
- Though this statue has haters, it also has fans. There's a lot of philosophical people who like coming to contemplate it and traders who frequent the boulevard where this statue stands are fond of patting it on the nose for luck. (Even though it looks like it wants to rip their faces off.) Art students at SIRU (Serenity International Rimarian University) have to write a paper on this piece using it as an example for government propaganda. Native Rimarians who can't read English think this is a shrine to Kayoss and leave offerings in front of it.
- This piece is, indeed, government propaganda!
- It's made children cry. lol
- Even funnier, statues like this are so 'uncanny valley' to some native Rimarian species that the sight of this one terrifies them. (Drakoon, especially, hate statues.)
- There's neck bits dangling from Kayoss' neck in this.

This was created somehow out of me listening to TLOZ: Ocarina of Time OST. XD Me and ~clearkid laughed pretty hard when I was drawing this yesterday!

Serenity is a city which is fond of statues (this being inspired by cities in ye olde Europe) so there are bronze statues pretty much everywhere. Also, thanks to the plaque that is on each one, you can walk from one end of Serenity to another and finish your walk more historically enlightened than when you began it!

Goin' into scraps.

Imagined, it's from the fantasy world that my manuscripts are based in. This is concept art for a major city that's in those.

haha Awesome! I never thought of a statue like that, it makes the place sound real and visitable ((if that's a word, if not, then whatever ))
Are you going to attempt to sculpt this yourself for a mini maquette?

I'm not sure if I'm brave enough, but that would be sooo wicked! (I'm scared of messing up all the gory beautiful details XD!)

I might try to draw more of the statues XD, there's some really cool ones in Serenity!

I love the idea I feel like Kayoss isn't super scary a lot, and this would definitely drive the point home that this is a god to fear and respect.

Well that is totally a statue I would want to see when I enter a town! Especially as it stares at my soul as if to devour me at any given moment!
