Finally, the long awaited picture of my new kitten Copernicus, who is also quite literally my roommate! (Or am I his? He spends more time in the room than I do, I'm just his slave who feeds him and pays the bills.)

He's not very new anymore though. I've had him for like two or three months and he's turning seven months in about a week. (His birthday is May 11th 2010.)

Fun facts about Copernicus:

- He despises artwork, writing and computers of any kind because they take attention away from him (as seen in this photo).
- He was born in Mont Laurier, Quebec, Canada - that's on the other side of the continent from where he lives with me now in British Columbia, Canada!
- He really, really likes freeze dried meat.
- He loves to run and he has a distinct fetish for feet.
- He's considered 'Turkish Angora type' because I have no way of actually knowing if he's purebred or not, but he does mostly meet the standard. (Except for his dislike of water that is.)
- Copernicus has been trained to stay in our room in the morning, even when the door is wide open, yet he's smart enough to differentiate that he's allowed out in the evening when none of our noisy housemates are around.
- He hates loud people and people who would squish or chase him. He is not a squeeze toy.
- He loves creative people! His favourite person (besides me) is who looked after him for nearly an entire month while I was house hunting!
- He's named after the rather ugly but illustrious 14th Century Astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus, who was the first person to realize that the Earth revolves around the sun.
-Copernicus' name kind of sounds like something big hairy Roman guys would scream while rushing into battle. Just sayin.'
- His unofficial nickname is Corporal Steve. He is also commonly called Copernimew, Coper, Copurrnikiss, Caz (?*), Stink Kitten and Fuzzy Little Bastard, not to mention Good Boy.
- He bites. He also leaps around, often painfully using my shoulder as a springboard.

Is there anything else I can say about him? I love the little guy. He's a good cat. Not as special as my first cat Sunny, but what animal can replace your first? I love them both.

* 'Caz' is what our Phillipino housemates call him. I have no idea if that's the Phillipino word for 'cat' or if it's just them trying and failing to pronounce 'cat.' None of them can pronounce his actual name but when they try they say it it sounds sorta like 'Copurr-puss' which is kind of amusing. They're all immigrants and really nice people.
