Description
Stolen off of my dad's facebook for the benefit of those who enjoyed my journal relating to the 2009 Terrace Mountain Wild Fire. That cloud overhead is pure smoke and raining ash. Note the haze it's creating - usually you can see those distant mountains!Taken at Brost Post, the family lake lot by Bryan Brost. Lovely view!

thanks, but these are my dad's (though I could take ones just like this or even better if I had a working camera, so lol, thanks again!!)

Wow reminds me of the time when I was little and there was a wildfire out in the nearby marsh (ironic no?). We were out shopping and ash was just floating out of the sky.

Marsh? Wow, that's seriously pretty weird. O.o I didn't think marshes could burn haha, must be the methane! Ash sure is spooky looking when it falls like that eh? It weirds me out!

I'm not sure how. I think it may have been a drought that year, so the wetlands weren't as wet as usual. Plus. They keep building in them and messing it up all the time so who knows how the irrigation was in some parts.

Yeah, fires = bad, but they're actually very good for the environment, just not for the people living on the land.
