Description This was a very fast piece (2-3 hours) done from a reference photo--this moment hit me emotionally, with the wicked expression on his face, and that lone tear tracking his cheek...he was finally beginning to understand the price he would have to pay to save Padme...

I just watched ROTS again this afternoon, and this scene really tears me up every time I see it! Glad you like it (it's kind of rough, and was done pretty quickly), and thank you so much for ing it!

I loved this moment, too--when it finally became painfully clear the price he would pay, for the rest of his life, to save Padme... I loved this picture when I found it, and I'm glad you like the drawing, too! Thanks!

the only thing i don't like about anakin is that he is way too angsty but he is like a mirror image of myself! i think he is like a reflection of all my flaws and virtues!

"he is like a reflection of all my flaws and virtues!"

We all have those--those "flaws and virtues"--they're what make us unique, and also what make us human. And I think one of our biggest tasks in life is to maximize the virtues, while trying to minimize the flaws (something Anakin wasn't even aware of, much less requiring of himself... ). I think I'm more like Han Solo--hard bravado, with a seldom-seen warm-and-squishy inside!

I so loved and love this part. I had a hard time holding up the tears in the movie theater when I was watching this for the first time. The whole movie was so touching When the movie ended and I came out of the theather with my sister, people were looking us like we were mad or something. I guess we did look a bit weird, both trying not to cry in public.
And I'm trying to hold up the tears atm too, you've managed to capture this part so magnificently!
Actually I'm wondering, why is this in the scraps?
I think deserves a place in your gallery, it's great

Oh, I was sitting alone when I first watched ROTS, and was blubbering like a stricken child from about halfway through to the end!! And yes--people kept looking at me like I was mad!

This was it--even more so than the slaughter at the Jedi Temple (though I think it was simply shock that kept him from processing it completely, then...): that moment when Anakin was alone on Mustafaar, surrounded by the death he'd dispensed, when he finally began to realize just exactly what his life would be from then on...that this would be the price he had to pay--to become an instrument of death--to save Padme's life... **sniffles**

Thanks so much for your insights and kind comments--I'm glad you like it! And I have it in scraps because it's a very "rough" piece--not nearly as finished or smooth as most of the gallery work. Thank you again!

Thank you kindly!

And I've been drawing SW (in earnest) for about two years, though I had drawn--off and on--for many years (...we won't discuss how many, lol!). I've taken some classes, but am mostly self-taught (and have learned a great deal from other generous artists in forums like this!)--if there are any questions I can answer about techniques I use, I'm happy to do so!
