Nice, what effects did you use to make the stars?

Would you mind doing something like this in 1680x1050?

Try this. I do this for gas giants: Run clouds (roughness 60-80), displacement, motion blur. Then a low gaussian blur. Here's one of the things I did using that method .
BTW, you gotta teach me how you did the stars and light nebula. I never was good at those.

Nice technique, but it is a bit harsh and sharp, and doesn't really show all the different layers and waves of clouds.
For the Stars and nebulae:
Just render clouds on a layer, set blending mode to colour dodge, and go crazy with stars on layers under that.Experiment, it's the only way to get good at things.

On the sharp, I forgot to do the last step. Rushed it a little
I'll give that method a try. The experimentation step I'm not sure I can complete

, yes it takes a fair bit of effort to experiment.
