Description
This is far from finished, but I was really happy with it so far so I decided I wanted to post it for feedback. Its going to be part of a larger composition. I wanted to give it an almost gothic look. Not the "I'm angsty' goth look, but since its not refined with smooth casing and you can see all of these almost edward scissorhands parts all over his body, I though it gave him kind of a 'darker' feel.
Critiques are welcome and desired. Like with everything else, if I ever get around to finishing the final, I'll move this to scrap

Fantastic design. The mechanisms seem very realistic, highly elaborate.

i love this piece... it looks so fluid, i understand u say this isnt the finished item, but if it were me i would alter the behind leg, if maybe it had the kink at the knee a little more, it would have the more "realistic" value to it...
over all i love it! tbh i would to see it animated!

Thanks. If I can find a way, I think I'd love to animate him.

that is amazing, good shit man.
the sketchy-unpolished lines really enhance the slightly run-down look it has, not sure if i get a 'dark' vibe, so much as an 'obsolete robot' vibe, if you get what i mean, makes me think its an older model. could get it to look darker with sharper angles on the head/feet, and a slightly darker shade of gray perhaps.
good work tho overall, i love it!

Very very nice. The knees are a little bit weak though. If it were a real robot, well, it would fall apart hehe. Some round, axial knees might look good, and it'll seem more natural

I agree. This is somewhat eerie, yet very nice work. I look forward to the finished piece

wow, thats a really good picture...
sometimes there is no reason to go further thant the WIP stage, adding/refining it would only ruin it, this may well be one of those occasions

Thanks. I'm actually going to leave this one as is. I've rethought the composition I was going for and I think I'm going to do a different robot entirely

Hmm... this is pretty wicked looking right now actually. I especially love how you're able to coney a sense of emotion, something like curiousity, into an otherwise blank slate face. It's very eerie and disconcerting, and yet, you feel related to it at the same time.
I can't give so much of a critque on this as I may normally, since this is still a WIP, but for me, this doesn't feel "gothic," mostly because when I think of that, I think of larger bulkier, uglier looking mechinations like you would have seen churning away during the industrial revolution, things that spewed out thick, black coal smoke, ran on pistons and gears that could shatter a man if they got too close. Odd limbs and assemblages that only added to the alien-esque feeling of the figure. Granted, this work still looks very, very good, but just considering adding some extra, intricate details, larger metal plates, bulkier limbs, etc., then that may add so much more dimension to this already commendable and very creative creation.
Best of luck! Excellent job.

Thank you very much!
I know it took forever to respond (I've been lacking in my dA etiquette) but I really appreciate the feedback!
