This is another old piece. I thought I'd get a picture and put it on dA for you guys while I'm home. (:
Now, this painting has a very sad story.

My neighbors had a friend who died, so they took in his two dogs, Cubby and Bubba. They wound up giving Bubba to the man's niece, but they couldn't find anyone to take Cubby. He was a pit bull golden retriever mix, and because of the pit bull in him they were afraid of him. They left him out in their yard all the time and never gave him any attention. He howled every night because he missed Bubba and probably his owner, too, having been with them since he was a puppy. I felt bad for him, so I would let myself into their yard and take him treats and rawhides and things like that and play with him for a while. A couple times they went out of town and left me to watch him, and those were the only times he got a bath while he was living here. My neighbors tried to get me and my parents to take him since we all liked him, but we already have two dogs and a cat, and really didn't have the money to afford an extra animal. They started leaving their gates open, hoping he would run away, but he never left. Then my neighbors got a beagle puppy. They hardly ever allowed them to be together. Then one day, the beagle puppy got out of the house. They caught Cubby and the puppy playing together - keep in mind that the puppy was old enough to like play fighting now - and Cubby was play fighting back. So they saw him as a danger to their new puppy, and a few days later, he was just gone. They didn't tell me where they sent him, and I never got to say goodbye. I miss that dog. I hope he has a better home now...
