General Description :: Although it doesn't show well in my artwork, Cogs is a mare of average height and a slim shape. She doesn't take good care of her body, but because of her constant exploring, she is always getting a workout. This keeps her muscles strong, though she can still be knocked over by the wind. Cogs has a brown coat with darker legs and a spotted pattern across her body. To most, she's an accident waiting to happen, a little mare with too much energy. Fun facts: can be become agressively obsessive over objects, loves to "dance" but never does so in public because she generally ends up falling over anyway, has a couple of random ticks, such as random ear or eye twitches, and has random, awkward gaits that look more like flailing legs than anything.

He was far from perfect, though. Milo had been ill and struggled for much of his life without letting anyone to know. This caused him to be extremely sensitive and moody. Most tried to avoid him. He was ambitious and pushed Cogs hard, but she loved him anyway.

Cogs never looks where she is going, and she has the ability to trip over her own legs. She's constantly tripping or falling. She's always getting cuts, scrapes, bruises. There has yet to be a serious event, merely little things here and there, though it's bound to happen. Surprisingly, she has yet to accumulate any scars. At this point, Cogs has taken to wrapping bandages around her legs to help prevent major injuries there, for the times that she does fall. Otherwise, she's often seen with new bandages or band-aids or even fresh cuts and scrapes. For some reason, she has a knack for getting herself into sticky situations and always has accidents. It's almost dangerous to travel with her. While she is not in any way immune to pain, her clumsiness has gotten to a point where she hardly cares for her cuts and simply moves on. In other words, they tend to be her last priority - she's not very good at taking care of herself.

Despite her ability to trip over thin air, Cogs still goes out and about to explore. She's constantly running here and there, collecting artifacts or new data. She loves getting away from the usual hustle and bustle of everyday life. Not a day goes by where Cogs isn't trekking somewhere.

It seems that Cogs has an endless amount of energy. While she often neglects to take of her body, she stays in great shape due to the constant exploring and running around that she does. Sometimes it feels like she never stops. Cogs can pull an all-nighter and still have energy to burn - generally this is the case for her. She often has troubles sleeping and becomes increasingly restless.

Cogs has her own, unique way of getting things done. A lot of others may swim down the stream in the same direction, but she's the one going upstream - getting in everyone's way. She often has her own thoughts and ideas, and she doesn't mind being different. Her methods may be strange and are questioned. Cogs can be very OCD when it comes to her work, though more in the sense that she has a specific routine that she has to follow. Anything out of routine will completely screw her up, and she'll go back to square one. It may not be the way everyone goes about it, but it works for her.

Although she has a Keeper's keen mind, Cogs is often described as a bit ditsy and "out there". She can be scatter-brained at times and often has multiple things going on at once. She'll often switch thoughts in the middle of a sentence and has a hard time focusing on one topic for too long. She sees this as a disability for herself, as she has troubles focusing on her work. Nonetheless, she's determined and works very hard. A lot of horses think that's she's simply another silly little mare caught up in her studies, but she's determined to discover something big that could change things for the Keepers and the other clans.

{ Before Birth }

" I suppose they got along well, "
When Tasha first met Milo, she was about 16 years old. Young and naive, she fell head over hooves and knew that this was the stallion she wanted to spend her life with. She attempted several times to become his friend and ask him to take walks or the like. Milo, on the other hand, was also young attempted very focused on learning. He had seen his potential early and was desperate to master it and become a deserved member of the clan. All he wanted in life was to be successful. Tasha eventually noticed this and settled for becoming his friend instead, deciding that it would be better than not being around him at all. Milo minded at first, but when they started working together he found that he enjoyed her company at times.

Around two years had passed by the time Milo and Tasha officially became a couple. Despite his work, Milo couldn't deny that he loved her. The two eventually became mates. By the time Tasha was 22 she had decided that she wanted to start to expand her family. The two tried for years to concieve, but Tasha would always lose the foal. Eventually, they gave up. Both were devistated in knowing that they were never going to have any foals, but decided that living with each other would be just fine. The couple lived on for a few more years, and out of the blue, Tasha declared to Milo that she was pregnant. Milo, alarmed, took the news as both good and bad. Neither of the two were as young as a parent ideal was, but he was glad that she might finally be able to carry a foal. Still, no one got their hopes up. It wasn't until her belly was swollen and her walk turned to a wobble that they decided to celebrate. They were finally going to get the foal that they wanted.

This came at a price. Tasha was weak from stressing over the careful care of her foal. She wanted everything to be perfect. On the day she went into labor, she was experiencing severe pains. Scared and unsure of what to do, she sought Milo out, and they traveled to a safer spot to be alone for the birthing. It was a difficult birth for Tasha, but she was determined and never gave up. By the next morning, they had a little filly. Both parents were ecstatic.

{ Birth and Foalhood }

" This was a nice time for me, "
It took Tasha several hours after birthing Cogs to be able to have enough strength to stand up again. The little filly, however, was eager to be on her feet. As Tasha rested, Milo helped clean her up and then get her on her hooves. She had long, awkward leg, but like every other foal, she soon managed to get them under control. From that point on, she became a little devil. Her parents could never keep her still or in one spot. She was always running about or wandering off. While her father tried to push education on her, Cogs had been more interested in seeing what was around. Her father pushed education on her, wanting her to be a well respected Keeper as he was. Cogs, on the other hand, was more interested in traveling and seeing the land around. It was difficult for their parents to keep her still and she was always being punished. Eventually she became tired of the games, and as she aged decided to give in.

Cogs grew up learning new things constantly. After giving in to her parents, she tried to settle down and took their advice. Still, she wanted to go outside, so she began spending nights out and then staying in during the day. One good thing that came from this, however, was her bond with Milo. She grew extremely close to her father, for they spent almost every hour of the day together. He loved spending time with her and teaching her what she knew. There wasn't much exciting happening in the earlier teenage years. When she turned sixteen, however, Milo suddenly passed away. Cogs had known that he wasn't healthy, and that he wasn't as young as she was, but it still took a great toll on her. For an entire year, she stayed holed up in her cave. During this time, her mother fussed over her, though not much could be done. She had fallen into a depression. For some reason that is unknown, a few months after she turned seventeen, Cogs suddenly got up and left the cave. She vowed to continue her father's studies and become very involved once again. It was around this time that she moved out of the cave and found her own. Tasha acted as a simple guard rail to help guide Cog's the rest of the way to adulthood. They have an average bond.

" It's funny - I don't feel any older, and I'm still trying to find my way, "
Cogs hasn't been a true adult for very long and is still only a young twenty years old. She visits her mother on occasion, though this rarely happens at all. For the time being, she spends most of her time either walking around or studying. More to be added as more happens . . .
