from Twists and Turns - Part 10 discord started remembering his past (due to his nightmare in Twists and Turns - Part 9 ), from there it's all a backstory on how he, formerly known as starswirl the bearded, became what he is today.
It's all waaaay before even the time when luna turned into nightmare moon

just to make it clear, this comic should have ended at the seventh page of the first chapter (The Chaotic and the Regretful), so you can see that i have no fixed pages XD

the story is always evolving further,this was supposed to be finished at page 8 of "twists and turns" and before that i thought this was going to be a 2-3 page comic.

I take it you haven't read anything from The Journal of the Two Sisters? www.bookdepository.com/My-Litt… It's an interesting bit of recently added lore. It turns out that unicorns used to raise the sun and moon, a task that caused them to burn out their own magic. To try and prevent this Starswirl tried to raise them both himself, rapidly aging to near death. To counter this he created an anti-aging spell to restore his youth and also (It is suggested but not said) make himself immortal. Celestia and Luna on seeing this took over raising the sun and moon for the first time. All this occurs just after the founding of Equestria.
Also there's a whole tribe of long lived (But mortal) alicorns. Interesting stuff.
