Description "I don't think you GET it, Toast!" the half-demon shouted, startling the investigator. "He WANTED me in his head! So stop looking at me like I'm completly insane! Because I'm NOT, ok?-! I'm only a LITTLE crazy, but for good reason. But you, you have NO reason! I just find it utterly AMAZING how people like you call ME a bad guy when YOUR the ones causing so much trouble! Going around and kicking people like me out of our own homes just because you don't understand us! What's so "GOOD" about THAT?-! You're all the complete opposite of "good"! Your so far PAST good that you don't even know the DEFINITION of the word! And don't you DARE even THINK for a moment about trying to justify what you do. I've been inside your partners HEAD so I KNOW what HE wants to do to all of us! Do you even REALIZE how many entities I had to SAVE and HIDE because of people like you?-! Do you know how many innocent entities you've KILLED?-! Do you even understand what happens to people like me once you capture us or kick us out? Do you know what your "friend" does to some of us?-! Do you, huh? DO YOU?-!-?-! And you know what makes it even worse? Your actually a kind enough guy to realize what your doing is WRONG but you don't do anything about it because this is the way it is and your too AFRAID to DO anything about it! And the cherry on the top of this messed up story? Your complete obliviousness of your completely insane partner thats wants me and everyone else like me DEAD!" ~ Jimmy Casket

WARNING! The following theory goes against everything you may know about Jimmy Casket. Read with caution.

Finally, welcome to the final part of my Jimmy Casket Theory! This has been long-awaited, so I wont keep you here for very long.

For those who don't know about this, my theory is based on the VenturianTale videos as well as real life situations, consequences, and psychology. This means that real-world science and studies are going to be used to help fill in the gaps to this theory. Also, as a note for my followers; this theory does go in hand with the overall GMod storyline for my FanFic-turned-novel series for VenturianTale. For anyone who has absolutly no idea about what I'm talking about, you can find more information about my FanFic/novel series here:

fallenshadow95.deviantart.com/…

Since this theory is about a character from a game that is continuously giving us new information about the character, this theory is subject to change in the future. So far it has held up for about two years, so I think its a pretty stable.

And no, this is NOT the entire theory. The original theory revolving around Jimmy was so long that I had to split it into various parts. This is the final part out of five. I suggest reading the other parts before this one, or else it probably wont make any sense. You can find each part listed here:

Part 1 ~ Evil!Venturian (EV): fallenshadow95.deviantart.com/…
Part 2 ~ Jimmy's Real Origins: fallenshadow95.deviantart.com/…

PArt 5 - Ghost's Memory + Summary of Theory: You are here!

       1. The reason why Ghost doesn’t remember anything about Jimmy or Gregory is because his brain would literally “Frye” if he did.

Finally, we are at the last main point of this theory. So far we’ve talked about how the current fan theory about Ghost, Gregory, and Jimmy can’t be true. We’ve connected the dots to Jimmy’s possible true origins as Sally’s older brother, and explained his behavior through this backstory. We’ve learned about where he got his ghost-killing knife and we talked about how Gregory and CBF fit into his life’s story. We’ve also explained how Gregory, Ghost, and Jimmy could have possibly become three minds in one body.

Now there is only one more thing that must be explained.

What are the roles of each character in Ghost’s mind and how does this affect the rest of Jimmy’s story up to and according to the present time?

I guess I should start with the basics. We all know that Ghost does not know about Gregory or Jimmy, and we all know that whenever he DOES find out about either of them, he promptly forgets about the experience or writes it off as another ghost problem. But why? Why does Ghost not know about the two other people living inside his mind? Furthermore, why does Toast not tell him about it?

The explanation is actually really simple. In short, the reason why he doesn’t remember Jimmy or Gregory is because there would be too many connections firing in Ghost’s brain at once. Having the amount of brain activity that three separate minds would use would cause Ghost’s brain to start acting in a way similar to a person who is autistic. In other words, the discovery of Jimmy and Gregory would cause them to become an active force at the forefront of Ghost’s mind, which would cause his brain to overload with too much information and “short-circuit”.

Let me explain.

A human brain works in very interesting ways. Now, I’m not going to sit here and explain EVERYTHING that has to do with a human brain’s memories, neuron connections, stress, and other such things, but I will give you a basic understanding of what you need to know before we get into detail about anything else.

For starters, did you know that it is literally impossible for our brains to multitask? It’s true! Our brains can only focus on doing one thing at a time, which means that when we think we’re multi-tasking, we’re actually switching back and forth super, super quickly between whatever tasks we’re trying to complete. The scientific term for this phenomenon is “context-switching”.

In a blog by a student majoring in human sciences there is a post that brought various pieces of evidence from different sources to create a list of 10 interesting facts about how the human brain works. This article has most of the information and more that I’m going to try and explain to you all.

You can find the article here: blog.bufferapp.com/10-surprisi…

If you want to know the full context, read the article to find out more that will help you to better understand what I’m trying to say.

Also, just as a quick note, I have looked at many other articles about everything being discussed here, so I’m NOT just taking the word of a public blog in order to create this theory. I have scholarly articles and books with the same information that I’ve been able to connect with the actual blog and it’s all basically the same. I’ve also checked the blogs sources and they are credible and accurate. The reason I’m only using the blog here is because it has most of the stuff I will be discussing laid out in an easy format for you guys to understand. On top of that, it would take way too long to list every quote and source that I could use in this explanation, so that helps to make this part of the theory a bit shorter, too.

Anyways, back on topic. In this article, the author references a book called Brain Rules. Here is the quote used from the book that describe what happens when you multi-task two things at once.

“Research shows your error rate goes up 50 percent and it takes you twice as long to do things.”

But what exactly does this mean? This means that the more tasks you are working on, then the more risk of error you have. Doing one thing is easier and more efficient than doing two, or three, or thirty. Now, take a look at this:

“A study in Paris found that when a second task was required, the brains of the study volunteers split up, with each hemisphere working alone on a task. The brain was overloaded by the second task and couldn’t perform at its full capacity, because it needed to split its resources.

When a third task was added, the volunteers’ results plummeted:

‘The triple-task jugglers consistently forgot one of their tasks. They also made three times as many errors as they did while dual-tasking.’”

How is this relevant to Ghost, Jimmy, and Gregory? Well, in this study the people were only given three different tasks to focus on and they were already messing up. A LOT. Now, take this information, and imagine having THREE ENTIRE PEOPLE in just one person’s mind all trying to do their own multiple tasks at once. It just wouldn’t work. The brain wouldn’t be able to function properly if three people were at the wheel all the time. So, in order for Jimmy, Ghost, and Gregory to co-inhabit one mind, Ghost would have to “forget” about the other two. This would stop his brain from trying to focus on all three of them at the same time.

 This is the reason why only one of them is able to be in control at a time and why Ghost blacks out whenever Jimmy or Gregory takes over.

Remember when I mentioned that if Ghost knew about Jimmy and Gregory, then he would probably end up in a state similar to being autistic? There is a reason for this. The definition of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is “a serious developmental disorder that impairs the ability to communicate and interact.”

When you type “autism” into Google, a table appears on the right of the screen with information about the genetic disorder. What it says is this:

“Autism spectrum disorder impacts the nervous system…Common symptoms include difficulty with communication, difficulty with social interactions, obsessive interests, and repetitive behaviors.”

The reason I’m mentioning this is because whenever I would try to find out what would happen to a person when too many connections were present in their brain, autism kept on showing up. In an article from Healthline.com, I found the answer as to why this was happening.

“Researchers from Columbia University Medical Center and colleagues at other institutions looked at the temporal lobe of the brain, an area involved in communication and social behavior. The brains of older children with autism had a greater number of connections in the temporal lobe than the brains of their peers without autism.”

The article can be found here if you wish to read it: www.healthline.com/health-news…

What this passage basically states is that these kids had too many connections going on in their mind, which means that they had too many things going on in their brain at once. This would be a form of what I like to call “internal multitasking”. What the rest of the article basically states is that people suffering from autism have a genetic disorder that caused them to not get rid of older memories. This basically clogged up their brain to a point where they eventually could not function properly.

They had too much mental stimulation and their brains metaphorically fried, locking them in their own little world so that nothing new could enter and damage the brain with even MORE information—because more information meant new memories, and new memories meant more mental problems. This is what causes all the social and learning disabilities that people with severe autism have.

This is why Toast never directly tells Ghost about Jimmy or Gregory, and this is why Jimmy and Gregory only appear every once in a while. Since all three of them are bound together, it can be assumed that Jimmy and Gregory must stay in the back of Ghost’s mind in order to prevent him from short-circuiting. It can also be concluded that they somehow knew that this would happen—or it did happen, but they were able to fix the damage before it could become completely permanent. This would actually make more sense because it explains Ghost’s odd social behavior and learning patterns that he seems to have that oddly match up to the symptoms described by Google and other articles that people with mild autism have. I mean, think about it:

  • Trouble with communication? Ghost has a tendency to ramble about complete and utter nonsense and often has a very hard time communicating his ideas and points to people who aren’t used to him and his usual sporadic train of thought. The only reason Toast seems to understand him is because they’ve been working together for years. But despite this, even Toast has trouble understanding what Ghost is trying to explain or say at times.

  • Difficulty with social interactions? Ghost is the most socially awkward character in VenturianTale, hands down. If anyone has seen any P.I.E. investigation videos, they would clearly know how weird Ghost acts around normal people. He doesn’t even like ringing the doorbells to speak with clients when investigating—he makes Toast do it! He’s even said on multiple occasions that he is not good with people and that’s why he makes Toast do all the people-related stuff that comes with their job.

  • Obsessive interests? Umm… how about his obsessiveness over the paranormal? Literally everything Ghost does, speaks about, or thinks about has something to do with paranormal entities or paranormal things. The amount of interest and downright obsessiveness over the topic goes way beyond his job’s needs. I actually have a theory about why he’s so obsessed, but it must wait for a different time. Ghost also has a tendency to obsess over certain cases and ideas. Once he sets his mind on something, he goes for it no matter what the consequences his actions to achieve that goal cause. This could sometimes be described as sheer determination and persistence, but the way that he acts while trying to achieve some of these goals puts Ghost’s behavior on borderline obsessiveness.

  • Repetitive behaviors? It’s Johnny Ghost. Even though his life is all over the place, Johnny has a huge tendency to be very repetitive when it comes to certain things. For example, Ghost has a tendency to act the same way and repeat things he’s already said from previous investigations. Toast has mentioned other specific behaviors about Ghost numerous times, such as how he tends to tap his foot when nervous, his bad habit of never combing his hair, his habit of doing the same things on certain days (to the point where Toast has once made a schedule for him just to prove his point and when the day he wrote up came around and Ghost did exactly what was on the schedule even though he said it was absurd!), and his tendency to shift moods constantly. These are just the basic things, there are many other examples—but I think you all get my point.

  • I imagine that these are side effects from the time when Jimmy, Gregory, and Ghost first came together as one. Everyone’s memories and thoughts must have gotten scrambled due to none of them knowing how to block each other out. The damage done by so many connections and memories firing at once could be why Ghost acts the way he does today. I’m guessing that they eventually figured out a system that would stop the effect after the initial shock—mainly because none of them wanted to live life as a vegetable and the fact that these are just mild versions of autism symptoms.

    And now some of you may be wondering: But, since Gregory and Jimmy are still inside Ghost’s brain, doesn’t that mean the number of connections that are firing are still going to be very high whether they are at the forefront of his mind or not?

    To which I say, not exactly.

    If Gregory and Jimmy found a way into Ghost’s metaphorical subconscious, then they could manually “lock” themselves in the back of his mind. Therefore, it would be possible for them to quarantine themselves in an area that wouldn’t have a problem with a little more brainwave traffic. See, the logic behind this is that a person’s brain has specialized parts that help to deal with controlling certain things. For example, there is a special section of your brain that controls your eyesight, another for your smell, and another for your internal functions (like your heartbeat, digestion, or breathing), etc. This means that specific areas of the brain have different levels of brainwave activity. So, any place that has little activity would be optimal for Jimmy and Gregory to hide in without them overloading it accidently. If they found a place such as this, then they could essentially stay there while Ghost is in control.

    If you want to learn more in-depth information about what each specific part of the brain controls, you can go to this website and read an article about it here:

      www.mayfieldclinic.com/PE-Anat…

    The subconscious itself is nonexistent and is defined as “something or someplace that is a part of or is concerning the part of the mind of which one is not fully aware of but which influences one's actions and feelings.” However, if this is true, then the subconscious would be located in a place where connections are firing off in a pattern that affects your current thought. This is why I have a feeling that, if the subconscious had a physical place set in the brain it would be located somewhere near or inside the cerebrum. This part of the brain is what performs higher functions like interpreting touch, vision and hearing, as well as speech, reasoning, emotions, learning, and fine control of movement. Furthermore, in order for the brain to process these things, it must have some place nearby where thoughts are formed to be either discarded or used.

    If wherever Jimmy and Gregory are hiding out is anywhere near this location, this would explain how Jimmy and Gregory are able to take control of Ghost without him knowing or remembering. What they are doing is intercepting the subconscious signals of Ghost’s brain (his thoughts) to the forefront of his brain and literally replacing them with their own in order to make Ghost move, talk, or do other such things. To put it simply, Jimmy and Gregory are shoving Ghost’s thought process aside and replacing it with their own, making him dormant while one of them is in control.

    For the instances that they do this, Jimmy and Gregory are able to act within Ghost in order to stop certain signals from forming, which stops him from remember things while they are in control. Again, this is because memories aren’t really thoughts. They are just pathways of electric patterns between neurons that when repeated constantly or very often allow for remembrance and understanding of what that certain signal means. In other words, if the signal is repeated, then it forms a memory. It would be way too complicated for me to explain how memories work properly on here, so I’ll just leave it at that.

    Anyways, if these pathways are blocked even when Ghost is not being controlled, then said person won’t remember that particular pattern, which would stop him from recalling that particular memory. This scientific reasoning is the perfect way for Jimmy and Gregory to stop Ghost from remembering whatever they wish.

    Of course, given the supernatural part of this, we can assume that there are other unknown factors that allow for this to also work as a weird form of possession. A possessive factor to this action would explain all the glowing red eyes, sharp teeth, and other physical changes to Ghost that everyone likes to draw him with in order to show when Jimmy is in control. This actually makes sense because when Jimmy is in control, his inner demon side would probably be the thing giving him the power to do so, which would explain why his more demonic attributes are what is being seen by others around him. Also, Knifey may have something to do with Jimmy’s appearance changing, what with her being a demonic knife that could have paranormal super-abilities, including form-changing magic. With all these factors, I think it’s safe to say that Ghost probably can change physically into something looking a little more demonic whenever Jimmy is in control, cannon-wise and otherwise.

    But even with all that explained you may now be wondering about this: If Ghost short-circuits wouldn’t Jimmy and Gregory be able to escape him? Why don’t they just kill him with an overload of connections and be free?

    Well, that’s the thing. It WOULDN’T kill Ghost—only impair him mentally. Remember, having too many connections only over-stimulates the brain with too much information. It doesn’t literally fry it. Ghost would still be alive, but unable to function properly. Given the extent of having both Jimmy and Gregory in his mind, he could literally become a living vegetable stuck in a hospital bed for the rest of his life if his mind ever found out about the two Paranormals while they are still stuck in him. That wouldn’t benefit anyone now, would it?

    Besides, if Ghost ever permanently dies and both Gregory and Jimmy are still attached to him, then they should STILL be bound to Ghost. Meaning, wherever Ghost’s body goes, they go too, until he decomposes and his bones turn to dust. Even then, there is a chance that they would become bound to the place where Ghost became no more, which would probably be some sort of cemetery grounds or something. This is why they need to keep Ghost alive long enough for them to escape *insert the recent Dipper escape attempt videos here*.

    This brings us to another question, though. We know that Ghost is the one in control, yet Jimmy seems to be able to slip out whenever he can. But… why would he do this if it risks Ghost’s memory being compromised?

    Well, there’s a reason for this. If you haven’t noticed already, Jimmy’s appearances have a pattern. A very specific pattern that indicates he has a LOT more power within Ghost than is being shown.

    What I’d like to ask you all is this:

    When does Jimmy tend to appear? Go on. Take a moment to think about it.  Really think about it. It’s whenever Ghost is stressed, right? Whenever he is threatened either physically or mentally? Whenever he gets upset or overcome by a strong emotion of some sorts?

    Whenever Jimmy comes out, it’s always during a time when Ghost is in trouble, both either due to his own incompetence or another person and/or entity. Remember, Jimmy only attacks who he thinks is wrong. Usually, that is the person who is threatening his own life or the life of an innocent. In this situation, that would be whoever is going to harm Ghost. This is because, even though Ghost isn’t really innocent, if he gets hurt then so does Jimmy and Gregory. That said, Jimmy doesn’t want to stay stuck inside a dead Ghost for centuries.

    And Gregory is an innocent. And Jimmy’s friend. So…

    This explains the pattern of Jimmy gaining control of Ghost for short amounts of time. It really is only to protect him. But this shouldn’t be confused with kindness or anything fluffy like that. Jimmy doesn’t care about Ghost. Not personally, anyway. He just doesn’t want Gregory or himself to get hurt, and in order to do this he has to keep Ghost safe until the two are able to escape.

    In all honesty though, would you like the person who captured and entrapped you, basically taking your wandering freedom—the only thing you ever really had—away from you?

    No. No, you wouldn’t.

    You’d probably hate him. A lot.

    Like, a LOT, a lot.

    With that said, one example of this attack-to-protect behavior occurs at 17:40 of the Gmod Funny VELOCIRAPTOR Playermodel Mod! (Garry's Mod). This is what happens.

    Ghost: That would be 264 dollars.

    Gertrude: *is a raptor* Oh. Well, that’s…

    Ghost: 264 dollars is my check.

    Gertrude: Oh, really? Umm… What if I threaten to eat you?

    Ghost: *freezes/blanks out for a moment*

    Jimmy: *takes control* *shakes head with a laugh* You don’t wanna do that. Just trust me on that, you don’t wanna do that.

    Gertrude: *doesn’t notice change* Well, you’re sort of cornered.

    Jimmy: Give me… give me my money! *needs to get money so that he can get Ghost out of there* *also so that Ghost doesn’t come back for it later*

    Billy: *is a raptor* *makes a noise like he’s gonna eat Johnny* Om nom nom!

    Jimmy: *pulls out Ghost’s gun and begins shooting* Give me my money!-!-!

    As you can see here, Jimmy didn’t come out specifically for the money. Sure he asked for it, but that’s only because, logically, Ghost needs the money. He’s struggling to get by with his business, hence why he works at McDonalds, and Ghost’s health directly affects Jimmy and Gregory’s. No money equals no food or apartment, which equals poor health. For those of you who think that Toast would’ve helped Ghost out, I say that there’s a small chance that he wouldn’t, considering Toast doesn’t seem to be helping his partner out financially now and is technically making him work at McDonalds in order for him to pay his part of the rent and other such stuff. There is actually a reason for why Toast doesn’t help him, part of it being because he actually can’t help him during this point in time (the beginning of P.I.E., I mean), due to various reasons that I plan on explaining sometime in the future.

    Apart from that, Jimmy would’ve also had to make sure that Ghost wouldn’t try to come back for the money and get cornered again while trying to get his payment.

    What I’m saying happened here is that Jimmy came out because Johnny was being physically threatened. Think about it: Johnny blanks out as soon as Gertrude threatens to eat him. Her kids (who are also raptors) are in the same room and are probably looking at Ghost like a dog does a sausage at this point! When Billy (Isaac) says, “Om nom nom!” it signifies how Billy was probably going to attack him soon to try to eat him. Notice how Jimmy stepped in and fired at them right after Billy said that?

    Raptor mentality conflicting with the Acachalla’s normal mentality meant enhanced predator aggression—aggression and instinct and a need to eat, which means that Gertrude probably wasn’t joking when she said that she was gonna eat Ghost! Jimmy would’ve seen this and, based on the evidence given, would’ve tried to neutralize the threat. And this is only ONE occurrence out of MANY where nearly every time Jimmy has come out, Johnny Ghost was being threatened just like this either physically or mentally.

    Another point that I’d like to make is about whenever something happened that would cause Ghost to think about Jimmy, he would forget about it or brush it off. This is because Jimmy or Gregory wouldn’t allow him access to those memories, or would create an illusion or fake memory so that Ghost didn’t realize what was going on. Remember, if he had access to all his memories he would’ve been overwhelmed mentally and unable to function properly. This brings us to how Jimmy also defends against mental threats. For this, let’s talk about Ghost’s interactions with Cardboard Friend (CBF).

    Many fans believe that Ghost slipping into Casket is proof of them being one in the same. As I have explained, this is not exactly the case. During his interactions with CBF, I believe that CBF is attacking Gregory’s memories in an attempt to overload Ghost’s mind with memories of the original investigation when the three became one—not trying to get him to remember a past self. This explains why Ghost doesn’t remember CBF at all or any of the references that she makes to him.

    With three minds in one, memories are going to get scrambled. Different connections firing in the same pathways would definitely allow for memories and thoughts of both Gregory and Jimmy to slip through to Ghost. This explains why Ghost seemingly has a few of Gregory and Casket’s memories slipping through his mental defense during CBF’s “attacks” (hence why Ghost remembers Jimmy’s dad instead of his own sometimes—it’s a strong memory that is related to Gregory’s situation with CBF that Jimmy can’t block out). Ghost is remembering bits and pieces of each person inside him and yet he is unable to figure out where these thoughts are coming from. Often, we see Ghost freak out over a memory, and then have no recollection of it later.

    This is what happens many times during the Haunted by CBF video. Under emotional stress, all three minds are internally struggling with each other. The fact that CBF drew JIMMY’S dad on the wall in that one video actually supports the idea that she was attacking JIMMY, taunting him and Gregory at the same time by saying the ghost boy’s name and talking about both Gregory and Jimmy’s past all in an attempt to break Ghost’s inner firewall and hurt them all in the process.

    Ghost would be trying to figure out the case, meaning that he’d probably dredge his memory basket for any reason as to how CBF could know of him, which puts his mind in danger. Gregory would be scared out of his mind, struggling with his own memories of CBF as they mingle with Ghost’s own thoughts, threatening to overturn the balance of the investigator’s mind. Jimmy would be in the center of it all, probably cursing his inability to truly help Gregory and getting really ticked off with CBF for trying to overwhelm Ghost in order to incapacitate them all.

    So what does Jimmy do? Well, the only thing he knows how to do: he scares CBF away. And then he promptly blocks all memories of the investigation, hence Ghost’s blackout at the end of the video when he suddenly forgets about what just happened with the cardboard ghost, including the entire investigation.

    Now you guys are probably wondering: Wait, but doesn’t Toast hint to Ghost about the investigation of Gregory all throughout the video? Why would he do that if he wants Ghost to not remember anything?

    To which I say: Because Toast hates seeing his best friend act so lost. Imagine how it must feel to know exactly why your best friend from childhood is slowly losing his mind, and yet not really being able to do anything to ease said friend’s suffering. You’d want to help; you’d want your friend to remember and find peace with it all. Toast may act like the simple, oblivious-of-the-Casket second-best of the team, but he has often proven to be much more complex and knowing than he lets on. He knows what he’s doing and he’s willing to risk his friend’s safety to try to give him answers, even if indirectly. Toast is the type of friend who wants to help in any way that he can, even when he can’t. This, in turn, would cause Toast to want to just tell Ghost about everything; to risk it all, just so that he could have his old friend back—the friend who was free of all internal doubts and struggle of not knowing what is truly wrong with himself.

    Now imagine how GHOST must feel. Sure, he acts like a know-it-all and has proven to be arrogant, sassy, bossy, and just an overall pain in the neck for just about anyone who wants to have a straight conversation with him because he makes absolutely no sense whatsoever, but… he’s broken. Ghost is the type of guy who’d probably get his head shoved into a toilet in school for being nerdy, wimpy, and afraid of everything.

    …Because even though Ghost has his moments of strength, his moments of weakness allow you to see that he is far more sad, unsure, and afraid than he outwardly appears to be to most people. And Toast is one of the few people who actually knows about this. In fact, given Ghost’s track record of friends and family, Toast may be the ONLY person who knows this fragile side of Ghost. Toast knows everything. He is the outside factor in this situation. The one that knows all, and yet, is powerless to help beyond a simple gesture or vague piece information to try and ease Ghost’s suffering.

    In short, the psychology behind Ghost and Toast’s friendship and minds would lead to Toast wanting to tell Ghost about Gregory and Jimmy. So that explains that. But this explanation doesn’t end here. Remember when I mentioned that memories of each character are bound to overlap and get scrambled? That is very important.

    I don’t have much information on this due to the current lack of videos on the subject. For now, let’s call this a theory within a theory. We’ve shown that Jimmy only kills people that he believes to be in the wrong. So…

     …how did Katrina die?

    The current idea that people have is that Jimmy killed her. But with the information given in my overall theory, one has to wonder why he would do that. If she was assumedly a love interest of Ghost—something that would’ve made him happy and would’ve helped to keep his mind stable—why would Jimmy kill her? I personally don’t believe that Jimmy would have actually outright attempted to kill Katrina, unless she had struck first and Jimmy was forced. Perhaps something happened to her that made her attack Ghost? Maybe she was possessed by a ghost or entity and Jimmy had to come out and try to stop her, but couldn’t, and had to kill her?

    Or, what if she was someone who knew about Jimmy, too? If she had been a part of P.I.E. back in the day, then it is possible that she could have been with Ghost during the investigation where Jimmy was merged with Ghost. Therefore she would know about Jimmy and would’ve been there to try and contain him, too. Maybe he killed her during the investigation in self-defense? Or perhaps she’d tried to give Ghost his memory back, therefore endangering him, Jimmy, and Gregory in the process, and Jimmy had just acted on instinct, accidently killing her?

    Or… what if Katrina was an overlapping memory?

    Katrina could have played an even bigger role in P.I.E.’s history and Jimmy’s life than we all may realize. THIS is my current theory-within-a-theory. What I’m saying is that Jimmy, for the time while he was free of Ghost, would’ve needed someone to look after him. Someone to make sure that he was never found. Someone to help keep his demonic half from taking over completely—because let’s face it, even without his fractured mind Jimmy wouldn’t have been able to hold off his darker half on his own forever. He would slip up and lose control eventually, and therefore he would need someone to keep him grounded when he would go completely berserk.

    We also know how useless Jimmy is at normal life on his own, so he must’ve had SOMEONE to look after him. This, along with the fact that as P.I.E. evolved and got BETTER at ghost hunting over the years (which led to the group becoming full-fledged, governmentally-funded investigators) means that other facilities and government-run operations would’ve gotten better at capturing paranormal entities, too. Possibly at an even greater rate than P.I.E.

    This means that Jimmy would eventually need someone on the inside of one of these organizations to help him so that he doesn’t get found out and caught.

    What if that someone was Katrina? If she had been a part of P.I.E. and Jimmy had unintentionally saved her during a Ghost hunt (because he would’ve been hunting the evil spirit at the same time as P.I.E.), perhaps she could have tried to help him out in return? This would mean that Katrina could have been the reason why Jimmy was never caught by anyone. Also, I’d just like to point out that Katrina is literally the only person who could’ve formed a relationship with Jimmy strong enough for her to keep him a secret.

    Believe me. I checked.

    I know that it’s a stretch. But if you stop to think about it, then it makes sense. I personally find it very hard to believe that Ghost could’ve kept anyone as a girlfriend, given his know-it-all, arrogant superiority he tries to pull on everyone. Furthermore, even if they were friends at the beginning of P.I.E., Ghost would have been too caught up in perfecting his ghost hunting skills and reputation to have paid her any serious mind. Their relationship at that point, if they had one, would have been broken off almost indefinitely.

    Furthermore, going off of what we’ve learned about her through the videos as well as the fan’s interpretations of her, Ghost and Katrina aren’t compatible at all. Katrina simply doesn’t come off as being the type of girl to be into someone like Ghost. Katrina seems to be kinder, more worrying and empathic towards others. She is considerate, smart, and thoughtful. She is also willing to go out of her way to protect who she considers her friends.

    While he is smart, Ghost is more egotistical, indifferent, and doesn’t seem to have a problem with shooting his friends if he believes that they are dangerous or against him *insert the werewolf player model mod video here where Ghost intentionally tried to shoot Toast after finding out he was a werewolf*. Not only that, but he has a rather mean streak when it comes to proving he’s right—something that can be seen throughout nearly every video he is featured in.

    To put it bluntly, Katrina and Ghost would be LONG past the “opposites attract” stage and more like the two opposite poles on a magnet repelling one another—at least personality-wise. I am not saying that they disliked each other completely or anything like that. I personally believe that they were actually really good friends. But just friends. What I’m saying is that Katrina’s thoughtful and understanding nature and Ghost’s brash arrogance and inability to see his own errors is a formula for a bad romantic-based relationship.

    Simply, they aren’t compatible enough for it to logically work.

    So the question is… why does Ghost believe that Katrina was his girlfriend? It isn’t that much of a stretch for them to have attempted a relationship BEFORE P.I.E., but it would have been broken of very early, which doesn’t explain why Ghost appears to be so attached to her at times.

    So what’s truly going on here?

    If Katrina was somehow saved by Jimmy and ended up hiding him from the team, then this would allow Jimmy to have a safe haven to retreat to whenever things got rough. Over time, if under the right circumstances, a relationship could have formed. I’m not saying that it did, but it is entirely possible for Jimmy and Katrina to fall into a relationship status. Unlike Ghost, Jimmy’s childish, naïve personality to everyday life could have been both annoying and endearing at times for Katrina. Sure the half-demon could be scary and creepy and grumpy and cranky at times, but Jimmy would be much more thoughtful, understanding, and less judging about the world around him when compared to Ghost (this is based off his half-demon status and all that’s happened to him over the years). Most importantly Jimmy, believe it or not, is more empathic (compassionate and more feeling towards others) than Ghost will ever be when it comes to others—which is something that I believe Katrina would have picked up on early into their first couple of meetings.

    That said, if anything ever truly did happen between Jimmy and Katrina, it would have left a huge imprint in Jimmy’s mind. Furthermore, if Katrina was somehow killed due to something Jimmy had started and/or accidently caused, then this would leave an even DEEPER hole in Jimmy’s heart—something that was inerasable. Just imagine the type of feelings one would have after realizing you were the cause of your own lover’s death. Not only that, but the death of the only person in YEARS who actually stopped for a moment to try and understand you long enough to get close enough to you to even form a relationship in the first place!

    Ouch.

    Just… ouch.

    This explains why every time Ghost sees Katrina’s spirit, he instantly recognizes her as someone VERY important to him, and why he seems to either want to bawl his eyes out or stay away from her. The memories of her are so strong in Jimmy that they continuously slip past his defenses and into Ghost’s train of thought, hence the overlapping of their memories. If this happened often enough, it could come to the point where Ghost would begin to believe that Katrina was one of his own memories. On top of that, if this continued to happen, it is possible that Ghost could also realize that these memories were not his, which would endanger everyone inside him. This explains the cry-or-run actions he displays whenever ghost-Katrina shows up. Its Jimmy’s emotional reactions to her that causes Ghost to act the way he does.

    Also as a side note, Katrina could have been the person to tell Jimmy about the CBF case, which would lead to his eventual merging with Ghost. This would also explain how Jimmy is able to find out about paranormal attacks that happen outside of his hometown or in small areas where the news doesn’t cover, or in faraway cities. It’s because someone was there telling him about the cases that would be safe for him to pursue.

    Personally, I find that Katrina being saved by Jimmy and looking after him in return is the most probable thing to have happened that could justify Ghost’s memories of her. It fits in both with Jimmy’s possible backstory and with current VenturianTale lore about both her and Ghost’s interactions. It would also explain why Ghost remembers her as his significant other while Toast sometimes appears to be confused about this. It’s because she wasn’t ever really with Ghost. However, we really won’t ever know if this is true until the VT crew clears it up for us or provides a little more information on the subject.

    So. I guess that explains Katrina. I plan on delving further into this topic in a seprate theory that explains in further detail with actual video evidence for why I believe Jimmy and Katrina are together and how this actually ties into why type of real-world ghost Katrina appears to be. But that’s something to be discussed at a different time…

    Now…what else do I need to talk about before ending this section? Hmm…

    Oh, yeah! I still have to talk about little Gregory! So, I guess the question now is: how does Gregory fit into keeping Ghost’s mind stable?

    It’s actually really simple. I believe that while Gregory is stuck inside Ghost’s head with Jimmy, he would be the one who keeps Jimmy calm and “sane”. Gregory is the mediator, the one who keeps Jimmy from coming out unnecessarily. Think of him as the “good” childish light that keeps Jimmy, the “dark” from going completely insane when confined like they are inside Ghost, the “Neutral” force in this equation. The picture attached to this part of the theory depicts this relationship.

     It also shows something else. Why is Ghost the only one smiling? There’s a reason for it. But I’ll explain it in a separate theory. For now, I believe that is all for this final main section.

           2. My Jimmy Casket “Separate Entities” Theory

    Am I missing anything that I want to tell you guys here? *goes back to reread entire theory* Hmm…nope! Which means that I can finally tell you guys what I think happened to Jimmy!

    I believe that Jimmy’s story goes like this:

    Jimmy is a half-demon who was born into a family where his mother was a normal human and his dad was a demon. His little sister was a waffle-demon named Sally. He and Sally grew up together with their human mother, who either didn’t know about the two’s paranormal side or didn’t seem to mind it. That is, until Jimmy accidently hurt someone.

    Due to the constant fear and paranoia caused by the integration of supernatural beings into Jimmy’s world, his mother became afraid of what Jimmy could do if he ever turned out to be evil. So, she planned to kill him. And she succeeded. But she was ill prepared for actually getting rid of a demonic entity, and Jimmy came back. But due to the stress, horror, and significance of his own mother killing him, Jimmy’s demonic half was fully awakened. It took over him, consuming his thoughts. Working on instinct alone, Jimmy hunted down and killed his family in order to prevent himself from getting killed again.

    When Jimmy finally snapped out of his evil half’s control, the damage had already been done. With the knowledge that he had become one of the very things he was taught to fear and hate, as well as the mental weight of knowing that he’d killed his entire family, Jimmy’s mind began to crack. Due to his uncontrollable actions Jimmy had given himself a form of killer-based trauma that would continue to chip away at his sanity as he got older. The more people he came in contact with and the more who came snooping around, the more Jimmy lost control over his demonic half, which caused him to constantly lash out and injure or even kill those who were trying to help and/or harm him. But Jimmy didn’t want to hurt anyone. He was just scared, confused, and conflicted.

    Refusing to let himself believe that he was an evil creature, Jimmy spent his life hunting down and stopping criminals and evil entities. This helped Jimmy to protect others like him, the ones who weren’t out to harm anyone, both paranormal and not. He kept other entities safe by hiding them from the cops and government. He even created a makeshift school as a safe haven for paranormal entities to go to in order to learn how to control their abilities.

    While tracking down a dangerous entity Jimmy one day ran into a group of new paranormal investigators calling themselves P.I.E. Jimmy ended up accidently saving one of the members from whatever ghost or entity that he and the group had been tracking. This person’s name was Katrina. Over time, P.I.E. and Jimmy continued to run into each other and every time they met, Katrina and Jimmy fell into a sort of neutral understanding. Katrina kept Jimmy from being found and Jimmy made sure that she and her friends were safe (even though he hated nearly everyone on the team but her). Eventually, neutrality gave way to friendship, and friendship became a relationship.

    At this point Jimmy freely hung out at Katrina’s apartment and stayed with her for most of his time, though secretly so that the rest of her team never found out. One day, Jimmy heard about an entity causing trouble in a rural town and decided to go and investigate.

    This entity was Cardboard Friend, or CBF. But instead of finding the box ghost, Jimmy found the ghost of a small child named Gregory. He stayed with the young kid for a while, unable to just up and leave him alone in the old house he was found in. But he stayed too long. P.I.E. had been called in to investigate the house, too, and they had finally come to check things out.

    Unable to find a way out of the house, Jimmy and Gregory had to try and fight their way out to escape the investigators. But Johnny Ghost, the leader of P.I.E., had other plans. Since his team was so unprepared, he knew that they couldn’t fight a full on demonic attack from Jimmy. So he and his friend Johnny Toast devised a way to trap Jimmy inside Ghost’s mind to keep him sealed away. But instead of just trapping Jimmy, Ghost also caught Gregory in the crossfire, causing both entities to end up trapped inside him.

    Today, Jimmy and Gregory continue to reside within Johnny Ghost’s mind. Together, Jimmy and Gregory try to keep Johnny Ghost alive long enough for them to find a way to escape their mental prison. This is where the VenturianTale videos pick up and continue in Jimmy’s timeline, so I won’t explain anything past here, for you all know the story already.

    ~~~~~
    And that is my theory! So, what did you guys think of it? Does it make sense? Does it sound possible? Or is it completely ridiculous? Let me know!
    If you have any questions, just ask me! I’ll be happy to explain any details related to the theory for you guys ^_^
    I guess this really does conclude the theory. Man, I’m so glad that this is done. It’s taken so long (the full theory is a whopping 54 pages [28,014 words!] on Microsoft!!!!) to complete! But it was fun. I’m looking forward to writing up the next theory. And this drawing, guys. This. Drawing. I swear Johnny alone took me like, 3 or 4 hours to color in. And don’t even get me started on filling in that background @_@
    But I have to say, I’m really happy with the results. I’m also rather proud that I finally got this thing finished. I’m sorry it’s taken so long, but life’s been getting in the way of my art stuffs a lot lately. I’ve also been saying that a lot lately, I realize XD
    Speaking about the drawing, I think I already mentioned this, but there’s a reason for why I drew Johnny Ghost smiling down on the frowning Jimmy and Gregory who are trapped inside him. It has something to do with I like to call “ghost envy” (if you have watched Danny Phantom, you should recognize the term ). I’m planning on doing a theory about it soon, but idk when. I have a lot of ideas for theories that I could do that range from P.I.E. things to Acachalla RP-related stuff and Cosmic High School. I might have you guys vote on which one I’ll do next, though I’m not 100% sure. I’ll let you all know when I decide :3
    For now though, I think that’s all I have to say. I hope you all enjoyed this theory; it’s been such an amazing experience reading your comments and hearing your thoughts about it. I’d like to say thank you to everyone who’s stuck with me for this long. You all shall get free virtual cookies for your patience 8D
    Okay. This still leaves one question: On the wiki, it says there's a fourth personality called Jackson. He works at child services. The only video he's in is THE JOKER BABYSITS! Gmod Joker Playermodel Mod (Garry's Mod). At the end of the video, he turns into Jimmy. So, could they be related? Or is that another theory?
    FallenShadow95 In reply to Gamer-Bros [2017-06-23 19:12:52 +0000 UTC]
    That is a whole other theory on its own. I plan on making it sometime in the future to explain all the details, but I can tell you the general gist of it here...
    Have you ever noticed that in Murder, Jimmy's playermodel always switches every round into another person just like everyone else, even though we know its still him due to his personality? I know that its because of the gamemode, but from a story perspective this is important to debunking the whole Jackson "4th personality" debate/theory that everyone seems to have. See, Jackson IS Jimmy, just not in the sense of an alternate personality. From a story perspective, Jimmy's ability to turn into different characters during Murder hints at the possibility that he can do this at will whenever he wants as a natural ability. This form of disguised shape shifting  allows him to disguise himself as random characters, including the man we see in the video called Jackson, which is why we never see that character again.
    Like I said, I wont go into too much detail here because of a future theory plan, but that's basically the general idea. Jackson is just Jimmy using his shapeshifting ability to disguise himself as he tracks down the Joker in the video.
    I also want to say thank you for enjoying my theory so much! Coming back to DA after being gone for WEEKS to find all your supporting comments has given me more motivation to finish my current BillyFriend theory! Thank you so much for your kind words!
    You are so welcome! And I believe you!
    In the murder videos, the siblings always give their different characters different voices, sometimes the same one. It makes sense that Jimmy can shape shift due to his different appearances but with the same voice. That does bring up the question though: can he alter his voice as well? That would explain Jackson's lisp. It also brings up more questions like if Jimmy can change his voice then why doesn't he pretend to be Ghost to murder Toast and the others?
    Alright. I do believe you. But in the video HAUNTED BY CARDBOARD FRIEND! - Gmod Mod (Garry's Mod), Toast said "I know but sir, I mean, it kinda seems odd that... your family name is Casket. Don't you remember those... times..." And was cut off by Ghost. Is Toast trying to make Ghost realize that he isn't alone in his body? Or is he trying to say something else?
Maybe when I'm older and have that stuff I'll be able to create a channel for VT theories and modify anything I created on here to explain it in a bit more detail with evidence alongside it to prove it. But I'm not at that stage right now, and I have to wait a bit longer to try something like that X3
    Well, maybe I could help with the theory explaining stuff. I mean, I have Screencast-O-Matic for recording software, but I've downloaded versions 1.4 and 2.0, so I use 1.4 for my FNaF World videos and my other gaming videos on my channel, but I can use 2.0 for recording just my webcam. Even if the video gets cut off before the full theory section is over, I can upload the footage to my drive and use Movie Maker at school to put it all together since I recently enabled my channel's ability to post longer videos, and I can always give the credit to you since you put all this together. If you want, after I record the stuff, I could send it to you for review and see what things I could explain more. I also found some different websites to crop footage from YouTube videos or change them into another format for use in compilations, so I could use those sites for clips to give the video evidence. If everything goes smoothly, we might be able to get your theory out to more people so they see how your theory could make more sense than they think. I have quite a bit of free time thanks to my classes currently being ones with very little homework, so the sooner we figure this out, the better chance that it can happen.
    I guess having both for me makes sense.....
    When I get a new computer I plan on using it to make videos, but until then I don't really want anyone to post my theories on there. I know it might sound weird but I want to be the person to inform people about my ideas. I hope thats ok with you ^_^'
    BUT when I DO start a channel I may contact you to help me out with making videos when creating them gets to be too tough :3
    That's Johnny Ghost, or what he's actually thinking. See, both Jimmy and Gregory are stuck in him, which is represented by the middle Johnny where both can be seen in his eyes. Notice how he is not smiling when they are in control but IS smiling when he's the one looking down on them.
    See, in my design of them Johnny has green eyes, Jimmy has red eyes, and Gregory has blue eyes to help differentiate which character is in control at a time.
