the colors were pretty tricky since I don't usually use these hues.
I don't know how to paint wings or landscapes loljfhweoga
the trees look like blobs too so don't mind that
but I like how the character and sky came out

Hello and merry CRITmas! I'll be your critique fairy for today.
Before we start, please ignore the stars; I feel they're a bad system for rating art on dA so I just give everyone the exact same amount.
I'm delighted to see such a fabulous creature today; its design reminds me of some native american spirit animal, but its colours are something altogether different! I appreciate how it looks both capable of standing its ground but at the same time, comes across as very friendly and approachable.
My one regret is that, with all the incredible detail of the creature design, the background still looks a bit as if it's still in its rough phase, with the broad strokes and unrefined shapes of the flowers and such. It would lift this piece to the next level if the focal points of the environment were also brought to as crisp a finish as the creature was.
... I'm also thinking if maybe the creature isn't too high up in the composition; it's dangerously close to the upper edge, making the composition feel off-balance.
Still, a magnificent scene worth such an inspiring title. Thank you for sharing! I hope many more deviants come and see this.
