I've been on a bit of a Turtles kick, and then I got the idea of variations to the standard mutant Turtle shape. (I also couldn't resist giving them all names and backstories) Keep in mind not all of these take place in the same universe/timeline.

1. More or less the way the Turtles are portrayed, except in my own style. Just imagine the gear on him and you've got it. I named him Shakes but I don't have a backstory for him; he just IS.

2. Box Turtle. I also wanted an excuse to draw this pose. He is Sam. He's a 12 year old boy (yes, he is tall) who had a pet box turtle named Cardboard. He was doing this normal turtle care for Cardboard when the window smashed with an ooze canister, which promptly broke all over both of them. They both mutated to look rather similar but with enough differences. The apartment was swarmed with Kraang droids and Cardboard was captured but Sam managed to escape.

3. Sea Turtle. And a girl. Her name is Piper. She was the result of an experiment to make sea turtle babies get to the ocean with more success. It took her about 20 years to mutate into this form in the ocean. She was captured by a fishing boat and taken back to the same lab. She has other siblings like her out in the ocean somewhere, probably.

4. Alligator Snapping Turtle. He's a Judo Master and teacher. He volunteered to test a new vaccine for salmonella, thinking it was going to be an injection, but in reality he was lead into a container with a dead alligator snapping turtle in another beside him. The scientists fused the two together, perfectly alive and remembering everything. His name was Aaron, but now everyone calls him Big Al.

5. Red Eared Slider. This is an experiment where the mutation isn't human-turtle, but dog-turtle. Specifically Shiba-Turtle. A pet slider was outside his cage and riding on the back of the family dog. The dog wandered outside, found a pile of mutagen. She ran inside to show her humans, but the slider fell off her back in her rush and into the puddle of ooze. When the humans came out they saw their slider was a bit bigger, and could now pant and bark. He didn't have a name before, but now his name is Doug.

Stupid plot bunnies, I got enough stories to keep track of. Anyway, some take place in the Nick Turtles universe, some don't; all I was going for was concepts and designs, which turned into character development practice.

I like Doug, I think I'll keep him around.
