Speedpaint

So uh, kinda fell neck deep into a Half Life roleplay series, one that's only barely serious. Not sure how, but I'm here all the same, I guess. Been suffering from a mild case of art block/burnout, and this series has managed to smash right past all that.

I actually got super frustrated with this a number of times, apparent in the speedpaint, but apparently I have magic powers since I powered through the frustration and made this look good. I mean, I'm glad I did, I'm proud of this, but it just flabbergasts me. It was an incomprehensible jumble of color for a long time, and within about a literal minute before I was done, it wasn't. Should I be afraid? Should I fear my ability?

The songs in the speedpaint are important here, as they together inspired this. What I Got (also the title) has a sobering, life-sucks-but-whatever feel, and Sunset Lover has a whimsical yet vaguely depressing feel. An interesting dichotomy, which works really well here. I've personally assigned one of the two songs to each of them here, but I won't reveal who has what, you gotta figure that out yourself. See if you can guess right.

I do hope it's obvious what the symbolism is here, I tried really hard to get it across, maybe too hard
