Okay, I'm going to be honest, I thought this Rey had potential for the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy but they screwed up with this characters in the following sequels after The Force Awakens.
For one thing, she is such a Mary-Sue, meaning that she has little to no flaws and it doesn't help the fact that she's too overpowered. Personally, I don't mind if a character is overpowered for like comedic purposes, such as One Punch Man and so on, but here, she has such a very overwhelming connection to the Force but she's kind of boring and it makes it very difficult to root for her.

My BIGGEST problem with her is that they revealed that she's actually a Palpatine in The Rise of Skywalker and to tell you the truth, I really thought that she was a Skywalker right from the beginning, given how much of a powerful connection to the Force that she has. Like many others, I thought she was related to either Luke, Leia, or even Han Solo for that matter but they threw all that away in episode nine. Even before I saw the movie (sadly), I thought it was a stupid twist and the very fact that they even had the nerve to bring back Palpatine (who turned out to be a clone) was really stupid.

What I originally thought was that both her and Kylo Ren (Ben Solo) were related, like they were brother and sister kind of related; where the brother falls to the Dark Side, while the sister falls to the Light Side and tries to bring her brother back to good. If they could've gone down that route, it would've been great instead of the same thing that we saw in the orignal trilogy, which came across as lazy and not very original. If you feel the need to copy and paste what the original trilogy had done, then what are you doing?

If you like this character or even the Sequel Trilogy, by all means but after seeing The Rise of Skywalker, it felt me having mixed feelings towards the Star Wars franchise.

Also, just because you take on the name Skywalker in the end.....IT DOESN'T MEAN YOU'RE REALLY A SKYWALKER, DAMN IT!!!
