This picture is for you Sir John. You are gone from us now and The Heavens now keep a beautiful new angel in their midst, and it's you! I am proud and happy to have known you and I'm going to miss seeing your mind's eye in your fantastical forest dwelling carvings. But most of all, I think I'm going to miss your kindness and your "lmao" crazy sense of humour. My only regret is that our Never Ending Story has sadly come to an end, Sir Uber John. You will be missed by many and remember by many more. Good Bye My Friend. Always Your Queen Magnolia.

Very beautiufl tribute to our friend, Magnolia. As I was reading, and realized who you'd written this for, it touched me very deeply. He is sorely missed indeed.

It's not every day one has the chance to meet someone like John. He was very special. I was really sad to hear of his passing, still have a lump in my throat. Just sad to see our friend go Linda.

Yes I know what you mean...it's still so surreal....I went a few days before Christmas with a happy heart to his profile page to wish him a Merry Christmas. Whilst there something made me read a few comments on his page (which I really rarely ever do). I thought I was misunderstanding something, so read everything, then read it again three times because I JUST could not believe what I was reading!
He was one of those people who just touched everyone he came in contact with, made each of us feel special...And even though we know we liked him for sure, we just didn't realize how much until something like this happens....
There is definitely a void now here at DA, which for me at least, is deeply 'felt'. The world is a little less bright for sure.

I knew of John and his work, sad news. Today I will think of his wife and family.
I am sure his forest carvings will be passed on for generations to come.

Beautiful photo and tribute for someone you had much respect for, we all need heroes or someone to look up to for advice and tips in our beautiful hobby. I also would of like to have met Sir John he sounds alot like my grandad who not only gave me my first camera but taught me so much, even though my grandad pass away 30 years ago I feel he his by my side everytime I am out with my camera. The main thing my grandad used to say was always keep an open mind if you think you know it all you will have a closed mind, photography will always be a changing hobby and you never know what you will miss out on. I will check Sir John site out and I am sure that Sir John memory will live within you for a very long time. Adrian .
