Why do we lie?  Perhaps to make ourselves feel better about our mundane lives.  Perhaps to make our lives seem a little more…interesting?  Maybe…we are just uncomfortable with the people we are.  We see those movies where people have such an amazing background, and we think…why not me?  Now I want you to take a step away from the computer and look in the closest mirror.  Tell yourself that you like who you are and that you do not care what people think of you anymore.  Take a deep breath and say it again.  You are you, and no one can change that.  No amount of lies can change who you are, and the sooner you realize that, the easier life will be.

Of course, you can lie if you want to.  Lie, lie, and lie again.  Pretty soon, you will be caught in a web of lies so big; you will not be able to figure out where you stand exactly.  Look back in that mirror…do you really want to be the same as everyone else, lying your way through life?

Then there are those who tell the truth all the time…you can tell the truth all your life, and there will be those who do not believe you.  Just do not let them bother you.  Simplemindedness leads to people not believing you.  You might be too scrawny or stupid, in their eyes, but what they think has no standing in your life, or it should not.  You know what you alone have done.  That is enough for most.  With the birth of the artist comes the inevitable afterbirth, the critic.  Just flip them on their asses and show them that they cannot bother you.
Life is so much better with friends who understand you.
