I've been in the mood to draw a raven, lately.
And I also began reading a number of Edgar Allen Poe works. So that, along with my interest in 1800's style pieces I did this.

It's not so much I obsess over the poem by Poe. Don't get me wrong, I love that poem and have read it many times.
But I mention Poe by the fact "Some Words With a Mummy" is the text in the back, not to mention it really did play a part in the result in some way or another.

I may not there's no reason I used the contents of "Some Words From a Mummy." Merely, it's the only word document I had on hand. It was actually intended to be a letter of sorts. However, I'm no good at writing real letters. So that wasn't going to happen.

Excuse the pen...it didn't bode well...=/

Some words with a mummy can be read at

I suggest you read it, it's awesome. ^^

Some of Poe's poems are very, very deep. They are almost hard to understand sometimes.
Nonetheless, the man had a way with painting a very morbid, paranormal picture in the minds-eye with his words.
Great drawing...I think it fits very well.

I don't know if you can click this thumbnail and see it from here, but you're going to laugh when you see it, we both had exactly the same idea, that's WILD. However, I like your newsprint background better, that was a sharp idea. :thumb87371834:
