Description
My dad loves elephants so I drew this for his birthday present. When he unwrapped it he asked if it was a self-portrait.Pencil, about 8x5 in.
Photo reference I found online but I can't get the link to work.

I like this piece too, the elephants are beautiful, I love how you did their skin. Elephants must be so fun to draw with all those wrinkles. I always thought that elephants, bears, and pigs were some of the most magical, terrifying and strange animals when it came to how you wanted to portray them. I cannot figure out why, but they just are. The little one is so sweet looking, I love the eyes and the way you drew those big, lovely ears. The larger one surrounding it was a really nice touch too and forms a pleasing image overall.

Ah, the wrinkles were so hard to draw! I was surprised; after doing the fur on the marmoset and I started on this one, I was like wah how do I do this? There is much more leeway when doing fur it turns out. One weird misplaced line in wrinkles ruins the whole effect, it seems.
Oh yes, I agree, those animals are fantastical like that. Now I want to do a series of them in a strange scary style!
Thank you, I'm especially proud of the ears. ^^ The composition is very nice--I wish I could credit the photo properly.

Thank you! Elephants are lovely, aren't they? Kind of difficult to draw though, haha.
