The Creature you see before you is the product of about three years of my life. I started it my junior year in high school and finished it my second year in college! It was sparked by a dream I had of this strange creature...After designing all the pieces, I carved them out of styrofoam. Then I covered them with paper clay (used to be paper puddy), painted them with acrylics (in designs inspired by Alebrijes -- look it up if you want to see awesomeness), and assembled them with beads and wire and springs. The joints were so loose I had to make it into a marionette. From head to tail's tip, it's about a yard long and from the top of the head to the tips of its feet, it's about 20 inches. The eyes are glass.
This is the longest project I've ever worked on!

I do not even think I can handle all the effort this must have had put into it, it is insane and mind blowing! And it paid off amazingly, this thing is incredible. I really love the extremely detailed anatomy combined with the equally detailed paint job. The head is simply wonderful, I love all the patterns and the mysterious glass eyes. How on earth could you have carved all those pieces is beyond me...out of styrofoam? Wow....I really want to find my marionette design and give it a go again. Well done. I really wish I could buy one of these.

^___^ Thank you! It *is* insane and I don't really recommend it, haha. But still I'm thinking of making another thing like this, though I'm scared of it taking up another decade of my life! The head is my favorite part.
