As powerful as the previous one, yet the feeling is quite different
while the first one suggests suffocation and silenced cryes,
this one referes to the carnal aspect of the emotion,
the loss of blood as the loss of the sense of the life ...
Great work

Hoo!
That's cute.
The blood on the happy face's mouth makes it look like it has facial herpes.
Yay!

Other than the ponch of humor, you did a great job on the loathsome mood of the piece.
*applause*

i know it's a resubmission - read it in your journal - but in fact i'm glad to see my fav images popping up from the past reminding me of "old" times... and you know, and old image can mean new things to eyes that have changed with time (the watcher having grown a bit older, more experience, more silly, whatever ) as could say, you can't step twice into the same river, and you can't view the same image twice...

i'm glad you still like to read what i write...

yay! finally new work by my all time favorite macabre artist (yes, you beat danny Boyle from 28 days later...) I love the sense of isolation this piece brings about... very powerful.

Oh thank you so much! Its actually not a new work tho If you notice the date its pretty old-- I had to fix something very minor and as a result it made it show up on watches again. I wish it didnt do that but I guess its okay in a way cause some people havent seen it yet --but it has always been in my gallery!

Thank you again nonetheless! I am really happy you enjoyed it so much

csdj In reply to ??? [2004-08-13 02:08:07 +0000 UTC]

i have always liked your macabre style, you pull it off so well, your blood and skin deterioration technique is always so realistic.

it's almost as if you are a crime scene photographer that only shoots beautiful dead girls.

or, judging from the amount of work you have shared with us, i'd say you've died a hundred times and still you keep on laughing long enough to set up the tripod and shoot yourself.

did you fight with the smile, or did it come automatic?

as always, you have managed to strangle the life out of evil, into something rather beautiful.

Ah, dear Lesa, you are so creative, and this has so much depth and expressiveness to it, a little bit of everything, from dark humor to pain to anger. And, your eye shining through the heart-shape of the vapor on the glass is very telling...the heart sees and knows everything, even if we don't acknowledge it.

*stares*
I really thing this gives off a kinda empty feeling. Thats just what i feel looking at it.
Parts of it are a tad bit fuzzy but thats all i see hehe.
But i really dig the color of the blood it's kinda orange. It's not Brilliant red like most of the blood looks. Very nice i love the look of the water on the window/glass. The boarder is very nice too.
What prog did you use to make this? or is it just a photo?
good show!

fangedfem In reply to mailorderchild [2004-08-13 15:50:07 +0000 UTC]

Thanks sweetie! You got it on the other comment you made-- its a shot of me behind a shower door Parts are supposed to be blurry cause it has that watery feel and not everything is supposed to be sharp. I took the photos and on this one just added the blood in photoshop and on the other just added the sepia tone. The photos themselves came out good on their own so I didnt have to do much

I think this has a lot more feeling than it's predecessor, therefore I like it more. I don't know if this comment has a place here, but in comparison, I like this one better because it doesn't have the writing on the bottom. I don't particularly like writing on photos, because it takes the feeling out of it that it is a real tangible thing. I have no idea how you made this, but I love the gore in it, and I'm not usually a fan of disgusting things, but this is much more than that. I like how the face of the person seems like it's peeling away, and that they look so tired and desperate that they could just die. Perhaps, they are already dying. I love the blur and the fogginess off the glass. The smiley face really brings something in to the photo, because it shows that even when things are going bad, you can think of happy times and be reminded of how great it is to be alive, no matter your condition. I believe you can find something in everything, and there's also beauty in this picture, despite it's gore. It shows sadness, evil, weariness, happiness. It makes us think. It's like a metaphor for the human existance.
