Originally when you ask Boone about Benny he says he has no idea, but with my particular courier I like to think she filled him in. I'm gonna guess Boone doesn't like him, if anything just because Boone doesn't like a lot of people.

Thanks for showing this cat the best hey-hey he's ever-ever! Talk about platinum in the sack, toots! Where'd you learn that 18 karat trick with the heels of your feet? You didn't just make my toes curl-they popped off and rolled under the bed!
I wish I could stay for another round, but this gent's got places to be, things to do. You showing up has forced my hand, baby! The time to act is now!
I won't be around for a while, but if everything works out right, you and me are a date, got it? Wouldn't miss it for all the caps in Vegas.
Now don't get clingy and try to follow me.

I have new vegas for the pc, and fallout 3 for the 360. I have to say, I prefer FO3. Im pretty sure the world is bigger, you had a better selection on the radio, some of the weapons are missing in new vegas, and I havent seen a single behemoth in new vegas. the only creatures you come across frequently in new vegas are radroaches, lizards of various types, deathclaws, and scorpions. in fallout 3 you met scorpions, bloatflies, molerats, centaurs, supermutants, wild dogs, gaint ants, feral ghouls, and various robots on your way through the capital wasteland. and you didnt have to find a new freaking brain for your dog! that was a pain in the ass. but I do like some of the new guns, and the new follower commands.

I do have to agree. NV has it's own charm but it's not 3. I've had that discussion with a lot of people. The odd thing is, Obsidian did FO1,2, and another, then Bethesda did 3, and Obsidian took over with NV. Because they used Bethesda's platform, Beth did oversee but left it mainly to Obsidians hands as it IS Obs' baby.
So Beths version (FO3) is the odd man out, yet is one of the best. All the points you hit on here are legit and I also have to add you have more places to go, more people to interact with, and so on.
Bethesda IS doing FO4, just for the happy record. XD

I respectfully disagree . Though I did prefer the look of the pc on Fallout 3..Your character seems to have a larger nose or something on NV.

sarraklok In reply to ImmaculateReprobate [2011-02-09 09:47:37 +0000 UTC]
I've noticed that with the NV charas. I've made 3 (3 dif games) and even with a tiny nose, it's still huge.
I seem to like fo3 because it feels more of a wasteland, more things to do, more creatures, more weapons, more area to roam, map is way way way bigger, more places to discover. I also enjoy the karma instead of reputation because it's easier (in an 'oh shit' kinda way) to mess it up.
I like fonv because of the companion wheel... and Vulpes, (c'mon. I had to say that. I'd not be me if I didn't). Other than that, everything 3 has, nv does not, but they are basically the exact same game. I like to say that NV is a hell of a dlc for FO3, because it basically is. I hate fonv for being NCR sided. For a game where one is to make their own choices, they really screw ya if you don't side with the good guys. Some people love the bad guys and root for em.
Too bad Bethesda didn't incorporate a LOT of stuff from 3 into NV but sadly they were just there to supervise Ob cuz that was their first time doing a game in that view, with that platform and in that big of a size. NV has its good stuff. To me, it was as I said, jumping from 3 into a new dlc with a few slight changes (companion wheel, hardcore mode, more deathclaws, less threats). Oh and the bullet making thing which I never use anyway, lol.
I'm actually going to be working with Bethesda at some point. Saw they're hiring for exactly what I'm being trained to do. A good internship there would win. No, I never played that Oblivion game but from what I hear, it's FO3 meets Medieval times. Some love it, some hate it.

ImmaculateReprobate In reply to sarraklok [2011-02-09 22:24:48 +0000 UTC]
Well, it's not huge..It's pretty normal, but it can't be changed from that..besides making it bigger I mean. It's kind of..Round. xD
I agree with the wasteland bit, Fallout New vegas is so overpopulated..And people don't seem to be very much effected by the tons of monsters everywhere. Everyone is just kind of chill..Whereas Fallout 3 everyone was struggling just to survive. Uggh Fallout 3 areas..They were so boring, all the same. I hated subways, hated finding locations that were just there for some stupid OP weapon, and oh the many many many power stations! Karma is retarded, that would basically be saying that everyone in the wasteland is one sentient being. There's still karma in Fallout: new vegas..But most people wouldn't care if you're evil when you're only evil from killing people they hate.
Vulpes is awesome. But to expand on that, I also like Yes man, Mr house, Caesar, Legate Lanius, Aurelius(Only the way he looks xD)Arcade, God, Raul, Tabitha, Veronica..And a lot more.. In Fallout 3..I pretty much only remember a few companions and President Eden. Everyone else was either a bitch(Dr Li) or so boring that I completely forgot about them.
So I prefer the characters on here a lot more.
I agree there's a lot of NCR, but at the same time. There's a reason for that. Think about it, all those locations, all those quests..It's just to prove how little control the NCR has over all of it's pathetic little settlements. They can't handle themselves so they need you to do it. Camp searchlight is completely irradiated, Nipton is burning, Nelson was taken by the legion, Primm has NCR troops right alongside it just sitting on their asses like cowards while convicts hold it, Even Camp Mccarren is full of spies, surrounded by fiends and not to mention the guy selling wares is doing illegal shit too. The strip! Full of drunken retarded NCR, hell if it weren't for all of these failures and idiots I might not join the legion as often as I do.
And if that weren't enough to get you to realize that Fallout: new vegas is great..Think about fallout 3. THE ENCLAVE, Oh how I loved the enclave. But of course we are literally FORCED to join the retarded brotherhood of steel and their pseudo-knightly nonsense xD. At least in New Vegas you can play for the baddies, Fallout 3 forced you to destroy the Enclave..The most technologically advanced, progress making faction in the capital wasteland. And here's another retarded tidbit, Anna holt, the enclave lets her join for some reason, but not Me? In fallout 3 I'm a god, I can take deathclaw hits, have everything maxed, and still..The enclave denies me entry and somehow kills me in a single shot. Because the game was too lazy to give you choices.
What exactly would you really want in New vegas from fallout? Tons of crappy quests..The only quest that reminded me of Fallout 3 was Cassidy's..But at least that had an interesting ending. Fallout 3's quests are so lame and repetitive, the characters are really dull and downright stupid.. OMFG The talon company. DO YOU THINK YOU CAN GO AROUND DOING THE GOOD YOU DO!? utterly retarded.
Ah there are threats, just their not as randomized as fallout 3, fallout 3 random endless robots just spawned all over the place next to super bears and 50 foot tall mutants wielding fire hydrants as tall as a building. Besides, I was never threatened on 3, because my character was close to invincible. 90% DR, maxed every skill, tons of damage, Very hard only made it silly. 6 shots to the head with a shotgun to kill some faggot slaver on a lawn chair..LOL
I'm happy for you, and I personally don't mind Oblivion..It's fun, but the dialogue, characters, quests..Are retarded. It's just the basic gameplay that I like..And the great race/face customization.. Seriously, customization on that game is endless. There's no limit to how you can shape or distort your face x3.
PS: sorry for the wall of text. I'm enough of a fan to get into the subject.

First off- wall of txt when talking about THIS is for the win. And you're a new bff BECAUSE of your love for both.
Second- this: "hell if it weren't for all of these failures and idiots I might not join the legion as often as I do." hahahahaha I love you so hard - because I agree. I hated the slavers in 3 yet I'm all for em in NV. lulz. It's cuz of Vulpes. And my severe hatred for Dark Sea.
What I'd love to see from FO3 into NV? More places to explore. The awesome weapons which aren't in NV. More creatures than just the 5 they got in NV. More things that happen while you wander the wastes instead of just 'oh. Another cazador/bloatfly/brahmin'
NV is too linear which may not be the right word so I'll explain. True in 3 one has to go from place A to C to B to C to A to C to B and done. But it seems more in NV it's more A to B to A to B to C to A to B. Relying more on fast travel than anything.
3 dog is missed. Even though he got annoying during the game in 3, he's still missed.
Gotta agree about the Enclave bit. Everything you said, I echo in full so there's no real reason to get more into that without repeating what you said.
My son even prefers 3 to NV. Says NV is just boring, no good guns like in 3. I also love the environment of 3. NV is too far away from the bombs. It feels more like a desert with ghost towns than how 3 was portrayed. In 3 you have cities you recognise and they are beyond repair fubared bigtime. It also makes ya think more of those who used to live (us basically) and what it all meant (the headless Lincoln memorial for one. The Arlington Cemetery for another- that one really got to me. It's like, you realize that all the Raiders et al have NO idea what anything stood for. Nothing. No idea. Which also shows the player that things of importance which we hold near and dear to us in some way or another, really aren't that important as time goes by; if things are forgotten or not told about or relied on tech to hold the knowledge. IT's a sobering thought) while in NV, I personally never got that feeling at all. I get more 'ghost town with Deathclaws et al now and then'. The whole 'fallout'/survival thing IS there - but not as in your face as 3 was. I'm more of a visual 'take things to heart' kinda person. I felt the desolation in 3. I felt the horror of seeing the Washington Monument in the distance, knowing that feeling of comfort and familiarity, and finally getting up to it only to have my slowly turn into a horrified shock as I saw it decimated and falling apart. Or the White House. Or any of the towns portrayed.
I just don't GET that in NV. It does seem more 'Wild West/Ghost Town' than a Fallout game; but obviously because OF gameplay and items et al, it's Fallout. But yeah, I think for me, it's the aesthetics of it all more than 'what has more or less than the other weapon/armor/faction/choice' wise, now that I look back on all I wrote.
But I do love NV because it's more Fallout to play and, when you realize how hard it is to create that kind of immersible world and how long it takes TO do so, there is no way I could NOT appreciate it. I think I am both trying to and should definitely look at it as its own entity; which it IS, literally.
Lulz. We're writing novels about this. ^

What I do honestly miss from Fallout 3 is mutants. Sure there were a lot..Maybe even too many. But I do miss fighting the hordes of mutants. Enclave as well, hell even the ghouls were tougher. But the thing is it fits a bit seeing as you're so strong on Fallout 3.
Ah, I personally didn't like three dog, I liked the music..But not him. I preferred listening to Eden talk about baseball than three dog screaming about how I was around some caves.
Ahh lol, well..I don't know how old your son is but I'm fairly certain the game was rated M..So I think he's not really part of the target audience (Unless he's in that age group..if so forgive me for assuming.)xD. And yes, the desperation/desolation is all great. Of course I'm not an American so it didn't really bother me in the slightest..I didn't get the feeling seeing all those monuments. Though seeing the Canadian freedom fighter being executed by power armored Americans on Fallout 2(or 1) made me feel very little pity that they were now obliterated xD.
The thing about that is often times if it weren't for the music I find I'd get bored walking through the endless desolate destroyed wastes. Just to find some random and kind of out of context spawn of beasts that are easily killed in one shot by my alien blaster.. Sooo much grey, grey everywhere..Go over here..Some more grey. And then there was the fact that no one acknowledged anything I was doing. There was..Wow you're a good person, or..You're so bad I'll give you stuff. And usually all I had done was donated caps to the temple of atom. xD AND AHHH ALL THE SUBWAYS!!
Here's some points from both that I really appreciate.
Faction system: godly, needs to be kept. Makes the game a lot more immersive(Don't think that's a word.), and choosing a side to be on feels more personal. Because it's you who chose it, not the game. So when someone says, Silliest dressed band of raping slavers..Well, you chop their freakin' head off xD.
Enemies: Fallout 3 had way more enemies, and a lot more random spawns. In Vegas it's incredibly hard for me to get to my 3rd level of lord death because I seem to have run out of people and things to kill. (Companions only make it worse.) So having more and stronger types could be cool.
Roleplaying: In Vegas you can play a role a lot more effectively. Since you get less perks and some have higher stat requirements your character is a lot more unique than the generic superhuman you would have at the end of Fallout 3. Speech and charisma actually have use,..+5% to companion damage and DT? Awesome. So that is another thing done right. Implants being effected by Endurance, more balancing. More reason to actually think about your stats instead of spamming them all on intelligence.. (Which is no longer on the top of my lists of stats to max.)
Basically I see what you're saying, you liked the setting more, the story itself. And I respect that. But Fallout: New Vegas is obviously what it is, A game about New Vegas. In terms of gameplay, dialogue, humor, loads of things..Well it's a lot better imo. How boring would it have been to play Fallout 4 and have it in the same exact setting as Fallout 3? The fact that they're so different is a plus to me. Because if it wasn't that way..I'd have no reason whatsoever to even think about touching 3.
On a final note... Yes man = hilarious, Vulpes = awesome, Confirmed Bachelor = Awesome. Would still love to see Fallout 4..Just hope they bring more enclave into it. ALSO, NCR ranger combat armor is overrated and disappointing. And the pants are silly. lol.

Agree with all you said, actually. As much as I prefer 3 to NV, on their own, both are my two top fave games ever. Aside from SIlent Hill 1,2 and 3. XD
Yes man cracks me up. Though if he were to fall into the wrong hands, that'd be disastrous. nods. Totally agree about the Enclave. I wanted to join em too just cuz they were amazingly evil. What sucked was no matter your karma, they attacked on sight and you had NO chance to do anything with em aside from what the game wanted you to do. So that's why the factions of nv rock.
I actually think if they mixed the two games together for 4 but different location, obviously, they'd have a winner of a game.
And probably more glitches than one would ever want, haha. But still. It'd be epic I think. All the positives from both in one plus more new stuff also? Gem. Epic. Total win.
