Another collaboration with photographer Louis Konstantinou luez2 for an exhibition project and another Fantasio girl!
The title "Android Legacy" contains also some subject to think about as also the "google-screen" she seems to be typing on: The electronical powers that surrounds are useful and lead to an advanced lifestyle, but makes us also slaves to the technology. This image does pretty much show that we can be sophisticated and perfect as we want to, but depending on a search engine because we forget so much.
Personally I think the internet and technology is a useful addition to our lives (if we have one) but its important to NOT be its slave !
Technique digital painting / Photoshop CS5 / 20 hrs.

Firstly, I'd like to say I LOVE this image! There are a vast mix of elements to this image that builds it up, so I'll break it down.
The depth is gorgeous. Adding the other screens and not just the main 'Google' screens was a very good move, because it certainly adds perspective to the image and a lot of depth.
I love how cloudy, how hazy and how painterly the environment/background is. It's not very crisp, which to me, makes it feel like she is standing in some created reality and not our actual reality. It's nice and big and open and VERY fake. I love that about it. However, I feel that by doing this, the model needed to be just THAT much more crisp, when her outlines are a bit painterly and things aren't as smooth as I feel they should be.
Because the surrounding world is so clearly artificial and she is MORE realistic, the great contrast between her and her world is actually not so great after all. It feels less intentional. I don't know how you painted her as far as layers go, but perhaps the white outer-shell should have been done with vectors and then rasterised and painted with some airbrush to keep it very smooth. You could have then gone in with a very small 1-2px brush and added some blemishes and/or scratches to keep her android and not human.
Moving on, the lighting is absolutely gorgeous and the highlights are totally spot on! She looks believably shiny. Plastic, metal or some new material entirely, it looks real, it's just the edges that need to be a bit crisper. I love the contrast between the subdued, desaturate blues of the environment and the neon blues of her being. It's a very nice contrast.
The concept is a gem.

its just the body, the ironic idea behind this is (as in the description) that we can have the most perfect body, but if that´s all, we still forget and have to use search engines to remember things. A little critique on the "generation google"
