to be exact, this one is about a year old, and was done for DA´s - "DARK ART CALENDAR 2003" for which $spot asked me to do a piece for...
which has never been published
however, this was my piece for it,
waited till this time to submit it here, so that no one at DA can bother about it...

I have had this piece of art work as my desktop background for 2-3 years now

Everything works in this image. The color is what grabs me the most- the hues of crimson and faded yellow are perfect. It wouldn't look nearly as good if it was shaded differently. That, and the expression on the face is really powerful. It's almost a pandora's box itself in how many ways it could be interpreted. Amazing work.

+yes, beautiful is right... and very well crafted, the fracturing box reminds me of Dali's "Corpus Hipercubus". the light and the sphere inside the head are gorgeous, an excellent attraction point that echoes the brighter spot within the box. the bird and its expression, enhanced by the humanoid eye, seem to bear witness to this portent. the typography somehow adds to the historical dimension of the moment and the puppet/ fragmented character has its own tragic beauty. a striking piece.+
