Description
Taking place in 1930, W. D. Elias founded theΒ Inkwell Corporation, where toons star in various movies and live in prosperous lifestyles, but all this came crashing down when Elias was mysteriously murdered. Mickey, Elias' successor became the new founder and renamed the company after his processor's name, but the result of Mickey taking charge of the company resulted in some 'specific rules', with majority of the toons leaving the company to start their own, albeit less successful businesses, while some retired from acting and settle on rural life.
When the rumors of Elias' death resurfaced, alongside the involvement of a former partner, the rival companies and former acquaintances sought to either aid or to destroy the company's legacy.

I'm sorry, but aren't they video game characters from the 80's and 90's? And not toons (and inspired) from the 20's and 30's.

They did come much later like Bendy and Cuphead, but they too, were both heavily inspired by the design of Mickey Mouse. As was the 1950s work ofΒ Osamu Tezuka, who inspired anime. So there's a lot of connections to be made from the old inkblot style. That's what I love about it.
