monthly drawing for my patreon ♥
Děd Vševěd(old man “Know-everything” , basically the Sun himself- who is old man only in the evening,but it the morning he’s little child and he ages at his way through the sky ♥) , his mom-telling him good-noght riddles and the young prince who came to steal three of his golden hair :3
It is my favorite czech fairy tale, I’ve already made some illustrations/sketches for it during last years but I take every change to draw illustration of Děd Vševěd again

I don't think so, it's not mythology tale, sun there is just fairy tale character 
but there is other fairy tales where Sun, Moon and Wind are brothers and they are brothers-in-law with prince and helps him on his journey

in my country we have a man who steals three golden hairs from the devil and the devil's mother helps him. It seems to be a similar story?
I like the idea of a sun aging from child to old man. It's a charming scene you drawed their, his mother looks very kind.

really? In here I know two version, either it's Děd Vševěd or it's Golden bird Zlatohlav(again he is basicaly Sun 
sometimes Mother of Sun is also godmother of prince and she helps him because of it 
I guees in europe tales are quite similar everywhere
(or ideas/parts of tales/characters)

In our version (it is called The Devil with the Three Golden Hairs) he is not a prince, but a poor man, but he was born with a caul and was destined to marry a princess. The king tried to kill him twice, but the man was always lucky. So, at the wedding the king send him to Hell and said: bring me three golden hairs of the devil and you may marry my daughter. Well, the man was lucky again xD
On his journey he was confronted with three tasks (I may quote): "He is then asked why the first town's well, which once sprung forth wine, no longer dispenses even water. In the second town, he is asked why a tree that once produced golden apples will not even sprout leaves. When being ferried across the river, the ferryman asks him why he must always row back and forth, and is not free to do otherwise. To each question he replies, "You shall know that, only when I come back.""
The three hairs made him know everything. He solved those mysterious problems and they town's people gave him gold and the king was eventually satisfied with his son-in-law.
I like Czech and Russian fairy tales. One of my favorites is Morozko, Warwara-krassa, dlinnaja kossa, and Dvanáct měsíčků.
