Description Here is a sample of four of my conlangs, each in their respective script. Each one is a translation of the same text. Each text is preceded by the name of its conlang in its script.

In order from top to bottom:
Conlang: Guhan/Lana [link]
Conscript: Gahasoka
Type: 80% alphabetic/ 20% logographic
Directionality: left to right

Conlang: Mboshda [link]
Type: alphabetic
Directionality: left to right, top to bottom

Conlang: Hansu
Type: alphabetic
Directionality: boustrophedonic (left to right, then right to left, left to right again, etc.)

Conlang: Char
Type: logographic/ death
Directionality: here, left to right

I'm not sure how DA will display this, so I have it available to download if you want a closer look.

EDIT: Whoa, it's huge at fullview, but all the same, download if you want.

Wow! You've made four conlangs! Dayumn! They look beautiful - would love to hear what they sound like!
I really need to finish my college applications so I can spend some time indulging my guilty language/conlang pleasure (or, as Tolkien referred to it, a secret vice!). One question: If I should ever decide to create my own language, where do you think would be a good starting point?

I highly recommend Mark Rosenfelder's Language Construction Kit .

Brush up on your grammar.

Also, any other language you've already studied: pick a feature you really like, or really struggle with, and push it to the extreme.

"Pick a feature you really like,"...funny, that's actually what I had figured. Thank you very much for pointing me to that kit! And good luck with your own work!

It's a suprisingly intuitive hobby.

I typed my last response on the fly. If you're still interested, you can hear my cl, Guhan here:[link] and here:[link] .

Also, the folks over at have a lot of good conlang resources on their front page.

I like the third one. It reminds me of the Greek alphabet. :3

oh, so I guess the fourth: Char is where the logographs came from in Guhan,
and what do you mean when you write logographic/death?
do you mean that the language is dead, because then I really wonder what conlang is alive...

Haha, no, I meant it's death inducing. It's soooooo much work.

ow, I see, it was probably clear to a native speaker of English,

btw: I'm finally done with my examinations on University, so I'll be learning much more Guhan from now on, although I do have some conlanging stuff of my own I must get to,

Hi! I think I might have asked you before, but would you be interested in joining the conlang group on dA? We'd love to have you!

I'll be starting a series of conlang challenges so its a great time to join.

P.S. The top on is my favourite.

I don't believe you've brought it up to me before, but *keyanadrake has, and I have decided I would be interested in joining. (Primarily because of the challenges.)

And thank you; the top one is my favorite as well.

...I am a mother who picks favorites...

Yep! The first one will officially start in November, but I might do a mini one at the end of this month to warm everybody up to.

Heehee, that's alright.
Welcome to the group!

:3 I like the top one the most.

The bottom one looks like a language from this universe.. Chinese maybe? Very cool.

Thanks. Yeah, it's my favourite, too- maybe because it's the most developed. None of them are meant to be extra-terrestrial.

Well, they're pretty none-the-less. :3
