Description I love taking pictures when it's foggy outside...

This is taken from about the same spot as my sunrise picture, right outside my "house."

I love the fog... *sighs wistfully* Everything's so muffled and dark and it doesn't look like the world even continues so far off.... ^^ Again, glad you like it!

Sweet! Man if I could only drive back to Monroe and capture a picture like that...that would be awesome!

Love the eerie effect.

I'm glad you like. ^^ I guess it doesn't hurt to live in a valley when it's foggy like that. I have bunches of other foggy pictures somewhere... *roots through crippling amounts of folders*

Kurokawa In reply to Faraleigh [2004-03-12 15:11:05 +0000 UTC]

Ah where I live it gets really foggy to the point where I can't see my own hand. More liable to get hit by a car...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Faraleigh In reply to Kurokawa [2004-03-12 18:33:36 +0000 UTC]

Eek! That's some really thick fog... I'd love that, though, if I were away from other buildings and roads... Just wander around, not really knowing where you're going... *sighs* ^^

Kurokawa In reply to Faraleigh [2004-03-12 22:46:44 +0000 UTC]

Well I was almost hit by a car when I did that.

People just told me not to be suicidal...But it wasn't my fault! I swear! They didn't see me in the thick fog!

Bad things about thick fogs: Can't see really well, though I like that feeling of nothingness, REALLY DAMP AND HEAVY, man you can SMELL EVERYTHING in the thick fog, it's cool though, to smell so much that you could never smell before (this is only good during spring time... where I live the people are OBSESSED with plum, cherry and apple trees, so the blossoms smell really nice

That's about it, other than that I love it

Faraleigh In reply to Kurokawa [2004-03-15 18:22:48 +0000 UTC]

Eek! That's no good. Just stay away from roads and where cars are when there's really thick fog? No getting run over... Hmm... I never noticed that you could smell everything better when it was foggy. I just tended to notice that you could hear everything a lot better.

Yeah. Water is good at carrying scent. It bogs down and reveals what's underneath very well. Though a wet dog doesn't sound very pleasing let alone my wet brother.

*pass out*

Ack! *twitches at the thought* So there are a few down-sides to the aplifying powers of fog... *ick*

Kurokawa In reply to Faraleigh [2004-03-16 22:06:57 +0000 UTC]

Yes it would seem so. But I still love the fog. Can't wait until the next fog rolls around, though that will be in autumn. Wah.

Awww.... If I get any here soon, I shall take a picture of it! I'd suggest boxing some up and shipping it off, but...... That just wouldn't work.

Yeah. I'll bet that you'd have fun.

Last month, the skies were red for a couple hours after dark. It was an eerie dark/light red sky at like 6-7 in the evening. It was cool and all, but kinda creepy.

Faraleigh In reply to Kurokawa [2004-03-22 22:27:24 +0000 UTC]

That'd be awsome... I would've loved to have seen that!! Black and dark red are my favorite colors.

Kurokawa In reply to Faraleigh [2004-03-23 23:53:20 +0000 UTC]

Black and red are nice. Lovely combo if you ask me.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Faraleigh In reply to Kurokawa [2004-03-24 16:43:52 +0000 UTC]

Indeed! I must agree with that. Especially if it's a nice dark red... blood red.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kurokawa In reply to Faraleigh [2004-03-26 01:17:48 +0000 UTC]

Blood Red... a beautiful color. Today my finger just decided to bleed in the middle of class when I was reading a book...It's so strange, my finger was fine and didn't have any hang nails or anything. It was just like a normal finger without any cuts or anything then it just ups and bleeds and I've been sitting there at my desk just reading without anything around my hand to cut it.

It's weird.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Faraleigh In reply to Kurokawa [2004-03-26 18:38:37 +0000 UTC]

A papercut perhaps? That's my only guess.... Other than that... yes, very odd indeed. I've had that problem once or twice before, just bleeding out of nowhere.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kurokawa In reply to Faraleigh [2004-03-27 22:51:01 +0000 UTC]

Yeah. It's annoying when you're just sitting there and it just bleeds out of the blue. Quite vexing really.

Maybe my body is protesting that I was ignoring the fact that I haven't had any bleeding of the late?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Faraleigh In reply to Kurokawa [2004-03-29 18:33:59 +0000 UTC]

heh Perhaps. Maybe there was something to the bleeding done in medicine... If they make you bleed, your body won't do it for you! (or something...)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kurokawa In reply to Faraleigh [2004-03-30 23:20:07 +0000 UTC]

Perhaps, I guess I'll have to be extra careful...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Faraleigh In reply to Kurokawa [2004-03-31 16:36:26 +0000 UTC]

Yes. *nods* And I'm sure it's a lot easier to get infected at school, too, since they're so notoriously infested with innumerable germs.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kurokawa In reply to Faraleigh [2004-04-01 23:48:46 +0000 UTC]

Yes. School is a nice place to gather germs and such. Lovely huh? So much for sanitation.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Faraleigh In reply to Kurokawa [2004-04-02 18:18:25 +0000 UTC]

hehe... I know. Tell me about it. I never touch door handles, just use my sleeve. And I try to touch as little of anything as humanly possible. I bet if you sprayed some Lysol or other such disinfecting sprays around, things would start to melt.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kurokawa In reply to Faraleigh [2004-04-06 21:18:00 +0000 UTC]

So true. School is a 'walking' epicenter for disease control. Some sanitarians need to get their arses in here to disinfect this place.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Faraleigh In reply to Kurokawa [2004-04-12 17:56:41 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, but once it's disinfected, it'd just be infected again within a few hours. It's disgusting. Like a giant petri(?) dish! *shudders* People don't even wash their hands after going to the bathroom then going to lunch.... *shudders and crawls into a corner with a can of Lysol*

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kurokawa In reply to Faraleigh [2004-04-13 20:18:49 +0000 UTC]

That's true. Hardly anybody washes their hands after going to the bathroom. It's really gross. Talk about sick people out there. Yup you're right about the petri dish analogie. I bet the SAT College Board members will give you an award on it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Faraleigh In reply to Kurokawa [2004-04-22 18:21:36 +0000 UTC]

Woo hoo! Too bad I'm not taking the SATs.... *snaps her fingers in mock disappointment* I don't remember how it came up, but I suggested a while back to my health teacher that we should get some of that powder that only reacts to black light and can't be seen otherwise and get one person to smear it on surfaces they'd normally touch... Then, at the end of the day, have a school-wide assembly and go around with a black light. Show all these people how insanitary they really are.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Kurokawa In reply to Faraleigh [2004-04-23 18:41:00 +0000 UTC]

That's a lovely idea! How fun! I bet the assembly would be fun if we did that, though the parents would go after my hide since it's my job to do the planning. Lovely.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Faraleigh In reply to Kurokawa [2004-04-27 18:43:50 +0000 UTC]

hehe Well, it's all for the purpose of education, ne? They couldn't complain too much! A bunch of people would probably freak out after the assembly or not believe the example and whatnot...

Ooooh... very haunting. The road sign should disrupt the scene, but somehow it doesn't. 'Tis an interesting counterpoint! *squints and thinks she can see buds on the trees*

*thinks you're seeing things* It's the middle of winter... I'd hope the trees are smart enough not to start budding then. These are all old pictures I've been uploading. I don't even remember there being a roadsign in that picture... *will have to go look*

Awsome has an eerie fell to it. Like a ghost is going to appear form it. I wanted to take a picture of a full moon one night. Sea fog had just rolled in it was really errie.

Oooh, sounded like that was a neat scene. I've tried taking pictures of the moon before, but I never had my tripod then. *has climbed up onto her roof before to take pictures* hehe

*packs up some fog in a box and ships it off to you the next time it comes for a visit* It doesn't help that I live in a valley I guess... Yeah, I did get the sense that something was missing in a sort of sad way, but I never really worded it like that.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

VelvetEchoes In reply to Faraleigh [2004-03-11 18:25:08 +0000 UTC]

Oh thank you! I need fog out here in the desert! I lived in a valley in Oregon for 18 years and thought I was ready to be rid of it. Now I go back because I miss it! I guess it depends on what kind of day you're having, as to how you interpret something like a photo.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Faraleigh In reply to VelvetEchoes [2004-03-11 20:14:16 +0000 UTC]

I suppose so. Pictures are pretty much just like visual poetry in a manner of speaking. ^^ Gaah.... I'm so never coming back here once I leave. Closed minds begone! The only reason I'd come back is if my Dad doesn't move out of here...
