Description
A background I did to practice. It could be more detailed, but I'm still happy with how it came out nonetheless!Related content

Oh nice!
I like the fading out into the distance, gives it real depthΒ
I should probably do some more backgrounds this year
What is your process like,Do you start by mapping out a silhoutte for the land or??

Yes, definetely; always go for a doodle of what you are going to draw first; then, fill it in

Nothing special, but once you apply it, you can instantly see the results!

It's very pretty! Did you do this no reference?Β

Fareons In reply to Lobensteel [2015-01-04 22:23:44 +0000 UTC]
Haha, no! I did use reference. Actually, I'd reccomend to always use a reference; you learn a lot as an artist, even if its just by observing. Yeah, doing everything on your own has your appeal, and it may even earn you bragging rights, but -hey- what we want is to improve, isn't it?

Yeah, definitely! I can't go two steps without using a reference...it's getting easier but yeah I definitely agree!Β

nice picture! as you already said in the destcription it doesn't contain a lot of detail but it's still really pretty
I can't give you any good critisism because I don't know a whole lotΒ about digital art ^^
but it feels real to me... it kinda reminds me of a mountain I went hiking on last summer
if you have any free time or want to keep working on that picture I'd be looking forward to a more detailed versionΒ

I used some references, so I wouldn't be surprised if you've seen the mountain, haha!
And I'm sorry, but I don't think there'll be a more detailed version up ^^
