His (definitely a male) little cute head is tilting! That's a great touch, as is the inclusion of the birds. Nice serene setting too.

Very nice eyes, I find drawing them suitable to the design is difficult.
Lovely use of linear effect, too, I overlook it too much. I associate it with amateur graphic design banners and the like...
All round nifty!

Thanks! I'm actually surprised you noticed the eyes.
I do love my gradients. The thing about them is that you have to be subtle with the colour changes though, otherwise they'll look hideous as you pointed out.

I love that bit near the end. This picture was probably triggered by seeing that sequence recently and playing Shadow of the Colossus a lot.

Why do you get to be so cool?
Love the colors, love the sharpness of the white... really makes it pop. Also the much of awesomeness of well thought out/well directed gradients. High degree of spiff.

HO HO HO gr... Blue giant, yeah that has a much better ring to it.
Oh and on a serious note your spatial awareness is second to none, well in a drawing sense anyway, I don't know how good you would be at a local Lazer-quest tournament?

Coincidence alert! I actually had your take on the Green Giant tune as my original Deviation description, until I uploaded the wallpaper sized thing.
Also, let me assure you that my Quazar skills are second to none. Thanks though, dude.

That looks amazing. I'll have to fav it. How do you make the shading in illustrator? I was thinking you could copy and paste in place the shape and then cut it with an additional shape and make the color darker, but there's no paste in place in illustrator is there?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
FargalEX In reply to Volcanic-Penguin [2006-03-10 21:42:46 +0000 UTC]
There's paste in front and paste behind in Illustrator, which is practically the same as paste in place. I tend not to use the exact technique you've explained there though, I usually use clipping masks.
