It boggles your mind, how so? They're lossless, support transparency and generally yield much smaller file sizes than jpg for vector images.

IS there a down side?
They are so slick and chewy looking. And yet they aren't the technology I ever knew. If it isn't a gif or jpeg I look at it strange. Gifs kinda suck unless animating something. Jpegs don't offer the invisibility feature.
Been building my comic book site this week. Hadn't done anything with HTML since 1998, and got out a book on website building, built it, and am close to opening. Compress down your little upper right hand graphic to 130 px wide and I'll put it on my front page as a link.
