The bubbly, yet somehow seductive laughter of Thalil wafted over the hill into Tauriel's ears. She knitted her brows, her young legs struggling to crest the large rolling obstacle. SHe reached the top, panting, only to lop her ears in dismay. But it was a familiar feeling. Rambriel and Thalil were still walking, not waiting for her as usual. Her father dwarfedher mother, his deep, booming, low and scratchy voice a high contrast to his mother.
In fact, they were nothing alike-- in good qualities that is.

Rambriel was callused; he was cold and nit-picky. Far too observant for his own good. He knew everything about everyone-- even strangers. He could pick out their life story from the scars on their skin and a wrinkle on their nose. He was huge; he was a brute.

Thalil was small and dainty; but she was filled with poison. She could bend anyone to do her will, even the mighty Rambriel often bent to her wishes. She was extremely cruel, especially to Tauriel, as she had almost died while giving birth to the huge filly.

And yet they complimented one another.
They were both manipulative, cruel, and they were each completely and unhealthily obsessed with one another. They most certainly were not in love. Almost every night they would have a battle of words. Rambriel pined over Thalil because of her beauty and her savagery. Other stallions lusted after her, yet he kept her just as raptured. She basked in his strength and wicked personality.

Between the two of them, Tauriel felt no love.

Tauriel sighed, heading down the hill. SHe looked up to see Thalil nipping at Rambriel's muzzle, and Rambriel smirking with an overly savage- but purposefully missing - snap at the mare's ear.

She wished she was never born. If only she had had different parents, she would be happy.
