So I think I've seen people gaining stats for there horse then " trading" them in for a mutation? I can't find anything about it on the breed format :-: please correct me if I'm wrong ;-;Β

Hi there!
Yes, once your horse reaches a certain stat level, you can go here to get rewards!
Highlord Gift ClaimingThe High and Lowlords of the EquusBallator world like to bestow gifts (or curses) on the worthy Ballators. Does your Ballator qualify?
Rules
- To avoid Upsetting the lords and ladies, one must only request one gift per comment.
- The form must be filled out correctly.
- Any curse received by Hannibal is permanent unless you use theΒ Cleansing Elixir.
- Once a Ballator earns a gift, it must have the following form on it's reference:
High/Lowlord Gifts/Curses:
Your Ballator must also be drawn as soon as possible with it's new gift, if applicable.
In the case of Hannibal, should you lose horns, manes, or gain a gift, you must reply to THIS COMMENT with a sta.sh link of your Ballator's new appearance for approval.

Hi! I'm not an admin, but I think I can help you out! ^^ If a ballator earns a certain amount of stats, they can claim a gift from a highlord that grants them a mane mutation, or any mutation for that matter! There's a whole lot more info here:Β equusballatorsociety.deviantarβ¦

what's the likelihood of say two barbary mane eb's breeding and popping out a barbary baby?

The manes are randomly rolled and the fact that the parents have mutations means nothing in the overall scheme!

So curently most of the older desgins will be preferred as Angora?
π: 0 β©: 2
Nukinit In reply to IAmTheGinger [2015-12-22 06:56:20 +0000 UTC]
No, Angora will just make your horse fluffier and softer. With a longer and more dense coat. The old designs don't have any specific mane mutation.

IAmTheGinger In reply to Nukinit [2015-12-22 22:44:02 +0000 UTC]
Oh okies, so for now if we are to update our old horses...they will still have no specific mutation available in case of upgrading them?
π: 0 β©: 1
Nukinit In reply to IAmTheGinger [2015-12-22 22:58:27 +0000 UTC]
It has been decided that horses can't be changed today. So your horse would stay the same. The only thing that might be asked to be changed are fatal issues on the design or an incorred genotype/phenotype.

So you choose these mutations or are they going to be part of genotype now?
π: 0 β©: 1
Nukinit In reply to IAmTheGinger [2015-12-22 06:57:19 +0000 UTC]
They randomly appear in breedings. When a breeding is rolled, 4 genotypes are given and each has a chance to have a mane mutation.

I really like how detailed these are, the new documents are awesome!
I have a question on something I've been reading up on them though: On this sheet it says the Throated mutation is the only way a desert stallion can grow a beard - and that these mane mutations are not hereditary but appear randomly. However, on the Mountain Equus Ballator Type ref sheet it says the stallion chased out the 3 year old colts when their beards start to grow which implies it's hereditary for at least the mountain Ballator.Β
For future reference, do we take this newer mane mutations document as the rule or is there some exception built in for Mountain Ballator?
Just trying to help with consistency as you do your revamp. Best of luck, and I can't wait to see more!

Fargonon In reply to AmaranthineRain [2015-12-20 23:20:38 +0000 UTC]
The mountain ballators will always grow beards, as will plains; Desert Ballators never grow beards. The Throated mutation just attaches the beard to the chest hair Throated/other mane mutations aren't normal for any type but beard are, for every type exceot desert and african!

Oh god. I neeeeed that barbary on one of my deserts xDDD
Will there be any chance to buy these manes as a trait to update older EBs? Or will they only be able by breeding to horses with the mane?
π: 0 β©: 1
Fargonon In reply to MemosNiceSide [2015-12-20 23:21:00 +0000 UTC]
So far only breedings produce mane mutations!
