Description
IG was destined to make a Spider-man game since 2002. No wonder their swinging mechanics were so praised...Practice painting of a certain Lombax and his robot friend swingin'. I always loved the slingshot mechanics in RaC titles. As you can see here, this piece features a younger Ratchet. While I believe that, no matter how flawed the writing for the games are, Ratchet matured so organically with each game. Ie: he grew up. He saw some shit in his life.
But, even despite that, a part of me misses that snarky, sarcastic edge boy.

Ratchet's swinging mechanics no doubt gave them the experience needed that when the later Unreal technology of the PS4 allowed more freedom of movement they were ready. And Insomniac delivered!

Wonderful lighting here.
And yeah as much as I enjoy him now, I liked him back then too. Kinda highlights how objectively simple times were for him then compared to later down the line.
