People tend to have scanners, or use their phone to take a simple picture.
Dropbox and Microsoft (i forget the specific one) both have apps that you can download. They both have a scan function.
These two along with Google (I'm not sure if it has an app where you can scan) have a cloud where you can transfer photos from your phone to your computer, and vice versa.
Though tbh it looks like Lichen here just took a simple photo and transferred it.
