Description
"I watch them from my cage, my brethren, fighting over their share of food like starved feral dogs. One half of me wants to join in while the other half wishes for them to just kill each other. It is not just the cages that separate us. I am not like them, we are not a pack, there are no Alphas or Omegas here. We are nothing more than circus freaks and I am the star attraction...they are just the sideshow."Got bored yet again at work, so I drew yet another ball-point pen drawing and again it is based on my experience working at York Maze on Halloween; the theme was a werewolf in a freak show at a haunted circus. At york maze there were other werewolves besides me...but they were only cheap latex masks you could get anywhere, so that's why the manager had me be the very first scare-actor on display in the freak show while the rest of the werewolves were running around outside in the corn fields; to give my costume the spot-light, kind of like a lead-singer and a chorus group. (And apparently one of the werewolves there had a crush on me whilst working there.)
I'm really getting into this new style, much different than my usual manga style. I may also do a short series of these 'York Maze werewolf sketches' too, they're fun.

Yeah, I like this type of werewolf: the kind that is obviously cursed into this form, yet still retains their human mental capabilities and their personality. Love that this was based on an actual Halloween job experience, gives it more emotional oomph!
Also, I now wish I could join one of those Halloween attractions with a badass werewolf costume (I actually do have an idea for one, and I could message you details if you wanna hear 'em ) Hint: it involves a bunch of tore up t-shirts, jeans, and some faux fur, though I'd need to build a budget first! XD

It was a fun job, and since I brought my own costume which (not meaning to brag) outstaged the other werewolves there, I had the job-interview in the bag right there and then on the audition date. ^^
My commission prices are listed in my Journal, I do work on budget with gloves and tails but masks are at a fixed price.

Nice! Sounds like it was fun, I'm kinda jealous! ^_^
Also, i would commission a mask, but Ijust got a job, and I'm trying to save some money up. Maybe when I get enough saved up...

The whole experience at York Maze was 'a-maze-ing' (lame pun I know lol).

This is an awesome picture! Also an awesome story; I find a lot of fellow werewolf fans here don't seem to have a knack for costume making too
Like hell I'm no expert either but I like to believe mine have been a tad more creativity than the people who stick some fur to the side of their faces and add a tail and call themselves a werewolf

I wouldn't say that, but my mask definitely outstaged the other werewolf actors there and that's not bragging, they really were just common grey smiffie's rubber werewolf masks.
You've made a mask?

I always think those look rather strange; I think I prefer fur more or less all over the mask Unless you are, of course, going for a 'wolf man' kinda look
I did but I cheated somewhat; I bought a moving jaw mask online then simply removed the fur it had an stitched and glued new fur all over it, added mesh eyes etc In my defence the rest was made from scratch lol
I actually recently saw someone else had used the same mask and done the same thing! *0*
Sometimes the similar thoughts of artists scare me
