golems aren't robots, though. i'm talking about full-on construct automatons.

golems have their base in magic. taking a ritual of some kind and/or a weave of arcane or esoteric magics to mold a material and giving it the means to carry out orders.

Alchemy is by mane a fusion between magic and science, that's why I think alchemy goes well with old style, steampunk technology

the reason i'm fluffing my feathers about it is because my friend is working on some D&D stuff and making an "alchemist" that uses no magics and is basically just a friggin' grease monkey that builds construct animals. i'm just trying to figure out how that's even supposed to make sense. -_-;
