Late to the party as always, I guess that's my thing with these.

So, on Sunday, July 30th, actor and comedian Paul Reubens, best known as Pee-wee Herman, passed away from cancer.

Paul Reubens also did some voice work, and three roles he worked on are ones I've grown up with besides Pee-wee Herman. The first one was one of the Trick-or-treat Trio members, Lock from the Nightmare before Christmas and I remember watching it a bunch with my older sister and God sister when I was little and hearing Reubens voice and listening to him sing about pointing a cannon at Santa's door was both entertaining and disturbing at the same time, Lock is definitely my favorite of the trio. There was also Reuben, the cooking instructor con artist from Chowder. Seeing him the first time and seeing him called out for pulling a rat in my sandwich sandwich thus getting his comeuppance was fun and seeing him being an instructor while acting like a pirate was funny, not to mention his name is not only a play on the actual reuben sandwich but its also funny that Paul Reubens played Reuben...heh heh...reuben. And the last role I think is his most iconic voice role is Bat-Mite from Batman: The Brave and the Bold, it was so much fun seeing Bat-Mite fan lboy about Batman and everything he does for a living and breaking the 4th wall while he's at it, also warping reality even making a Batman that uses a gun...man, 2008 was a fun year for me.

It sucks that Paul Reubens is gone, but I will always take comfort, knowing that he left a legacy and characters that will endure over the end of time. He may be gone, but he'll always be alive in the mind and hearts of his fans.
