I feel severely let down by Anne Rice's writing and character "development". But I still like Lestat/Louis- probably because I am fickle to the name "Louis." The character has always been very adorable in the story..YEAH anyway, here's a quick drawing of Lestat, Claudia and Louis from Interview with the Vampire... apologies for any inaccuracies.

I like when people make the characters their own though. It shows that the artist had balls to mark the material with their personal touches. I respect it.

i read her vampire series and stopped after The Vampire Armand, and i agree. she seemed to get a little sloppy after the first 3 books or so. i was quite disappointed, so i've been debating with myself for a year on weather or not i should get Merrick. :S
anyway, im gonna stop rambling now and tell you that this art is lovely and its going in my favs. mostly because i love these characters and because they look cute together. ^w^

i wouldn't skip Armand, at least not the first half. it was really interesting to read about how he became a vampire but you're right, after a while it was pretty irrelevant.honestly though, the Tale of the Body Thief and Memnoch the Devil really weren't that great. i mean, you could have skipped them both, and the plot would have been fine. i would actually recommend skipping Memnoch, its very preachy and really seems to lag on and on. as for Blood Canticle i haven't read that. i did read Pandora which i thought was pretty good. it was the book that got me into Anne

yeah I wouldn't skip Armand, I loved that one. that is if you're into umm...sexy-time then do read it, if not you can skip it.
Merrick was BAHHHD! So boring. Blackwood Farm has an interesting story but it's dragging so much it's difficult for me to read the rest of it.
