Hey guys! Today, I am excited to share with you a photo I discovered on Pinterest. It's called Mitarai Pond and it's a real location nestled within one of the oldest "God's temples" in Ibaraki, Japan🇯🇵 This photo truly inspired me with its captivating compositions, so I couldn't resist drawing it🤩. There are several elements in the photo that caught my attention: the color of the pond, the swimming Koi fish and the colorless Torii gate structure. To add an extra touch of nature, I included a cheeky lotus leaf. ⛩🐟🌊

Creating a realistic shadow for the torii gate proved to be quite a challenge. Since the original photo was taken from an angle, I couldn't simply flip it upside down. Instead, I had to redraw parts of the structure to achieve a more accurate representation. Patience played a significant role in this illustration, especially since I already had some experience in drawing forests, water reflections, and overall textures.
