I've started reading several of R.A. Salvatore's Forgotten Realms series featuring the well-known troupe: Wulfgar, Bruenor, Regis, Catti-brie, and Drizzt. I've already read the Dark Elf Trilogy featuring Drizzt, and like hundreds of other Elfwood artists, I just HAD to try and portray Drizzt as I imagined him. For once I wanted to see him without premature wrinkles and a bloated, prune-looking face - those early cover artists just didn't seem to grasp how young he was (for an elf) in these books.Related content

Oh, gosh! That is so fabtastical. It's sooo smooth! (lota o's right there ... haha) I just love this. Wow. His whole outfit is great, and his features are so handsome. God. He looks utterly cool - like he's about to go kick some orc ass or something. Again, love the hair. And the background is groovy. The only thing I'd work on are the eyes ... they seem to be bulging out a tad. Yet, I'm no God at eyes so I dunno ... though I do know they're very hard!!! Anyways, this is just so refreshing. It's great!

Great point about the eyes - I didn't see it until you brought it up, but you're exactly right! They are kinda bulgy. *laughs* When I get some free time I might just have to fix them! Although, I'm more excited about making a whole new illustration of him, so it might just get set on the back burner. Hmmmm.

i love drizzt and the whole gang. i love the grayish tone to the whole picture and then the purple in select parts. it makes it very interesting. love it
