Description
Still another RQ byI initially balked at doing the male Cool Trainer from Ruby/Sapphire, but a request is a request so I figured it was time to introduce a few new OCs anyway. I'm proud of how this one turned out, I think I'm getting a little better at flat-cell shading.
The original sprite I used for reference is found here: [link]
Nicolai "Nico" Volta VII, a direct descendant of the famous electrical engineer and sorceror Nicola Volta I, is an aspiring 17-year-old Coordinator, a prestigious physicist, and most importantly a powerful sorceror, who intends to maintain and capitalize on his family legacies with a vengeance. Originally from Hoenn, his family moved to Isshu when he was five, and it was here that he first learned of not only his interest in physics, but also his abilities as a sorceror, particularly in the field of energy manipulation. His father, Thomas Graham Volta, who is himself a sorceror/scientist of the Pokemon Scientific Academy, is responsible for the story that Nikola's obsession came about due to his sticking the point of his Zekrom ring into an electrical socket; the resultant shock, it is said, fascinated him, prompting his ambitions in physics and chemistry.
Although he is capable of learning all kinds of sorcery, Nico's favorite branch of study is energy manipulation, especially electricity and plasma projection. Although he denies the socket story, he has admitted that the literally shocking experiences of his youth were a good prompt for his obsessions, the most prominent being the sighting of Zekrom at the start of his Pokemon journey. His major ability, passed down through numerous generations, is what he likes to call "electrokinesis," namely control of electricity. Lightning bolts are the most common manifestation of this, and in fact whenever he prepares to battle or perform, storm clouds appear over the sky, enhancing his power. Some say he was blessed by Zekrom when he started his journey, but this has yet to be confirmed.
His faithful companion, familiar, and starter Pokemon is his Denchura, Tesla, who is distinguishable from other Denchura in that he has an extra pair of thoracial legs, blue claws on his peldialps, and knowledge of Pin Missile, which cannot be learned by normal Denchura. Although he has a very mischievous nature, especially the tendency to scare other people with his long cold stare just for the hell of it, he is still very loyal to his friend Nico, perhaps because he saved him from poachers in his days as a super-rare six-legged Bachuru.
Although he is most based on the Cool Trainer from Ruby/Sapphire (hence his birthplace in Hoenn), I also took some stuff from the Sorceror's Apprentice movie in building his character. I'm still not sure which alignment he is in yet, but for now I'd say he's kind of neutral but rather stoic, which makes him a perfect victim for my Featherbending skillz.
Nico is the most likely candidate for the next new OC in Iron/Copper, because I suppose his abilities would give Lapis a super-hard time indeed in a battle; I'm planning on introducing two other OCs as well, though, just to see who's the best choice. I still think it would be Nico, though - as powerful as Pi is, I'm pretty sure it will be a really close match against a no-nonsense lightning-tossing guy who prefers to kick ass first and take names later.
Pokemon and Denchura are copyright to Nintendo. But Nico and Tesla of course are mine.

I was thinking more along the likes of Nikola Tesla, that electrician who made Tesla coils famous. But I suppose it's not a coincidence because he is also the name basis for Tesla Motors, which specializes in electric vehicles.
Tesla is the name of the Denchura, not the trainer, by the way. Nico does have a variant of the guy's first name though.

Mine is Nissan, I have two of those. I'll bet Nico would end up driving a Ferrari F430 like in the movie, though, since they used one in the street chase scene.
It crashed. Twice. D:

Yeah. He is a sorceror after all, so he can do whatever the fuck he wants with his vehicles.

Ferraris are useless, tell him to sell that shit and buy a Mercedes-Benz. Ferraris can't be driven everyday like a Mercedes-Benz can. Not to mention you'll have to stick to the speed limit! Lol!
Also, Ferrraris are mostly driven by rich douchebags who try to be someone. You know that's true. How many Ferrari drivers do you know who has contributed to something important? I haven't seen any at all.
There's also the fact that the new 458 Italia is a car that tends to tell its owner to go fuck himself and that $340,000 he's spent on it as it burns in flames.
It also means Ferrari drivers don't give a shit what can happen and don't have any knowledge of cars and what they are capable of, as long as it WEARS the Ferrari badge on the hood.

Still want that Ferrari?

Exactly. Tell Tesla to not buy that shitty F430, unless you want him to end up being a giant slice of bacon at the end.

Good. That's why Callace's has never bought a Ferrari.
He has a Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 though. It's not to show off, but the car is just simply staggering. It handles like a Ferrari itself, it's usable everyday, it's got soul and passion (overused words to describe an Italian supercar), it's comfortable, reliable, and it's FIREPROOF.
If you want a fast, user-friendly sportscar and NOT look as big of a douchebag as you might look in a Ferrari, get a Lamborghini!

[Nico:] Fireproof definitely works for me. If it's better than that lousy Ferarri I crashed in my first high-speed chase, I think I'll take your advice and go for the Lamborghini instead.

Callace: The LP560-4, 550-2 Valentino Balboni, or the LP570-4 Superleggera are all great choices for the Gallardos.
