Title says it all. I kicked myself in the ass enough times to get cracking on some concepts I've been meaning to put to paper.

Gavla

- Bro, I don't know where you are and why you don't try to contact me but man we had a really tight bond during those years of joking around and coming up with crazy comic ideas. Even though some of the projects we thought up never really hit the mark they should have I still had fun doing those things. It's also been sometime since I drew your character. So here's a most recent sketch for not only the Matoran body-type itself but for a recent on-paper look for you as well. I don't no if you watch my gallery or not but I just want to let you know I still care. It goes without question that you were like a brother to me.

Thorn

- Once in awhile I get some pretty sleazy ideas for our beloved Skakdi thief. So here's a little teaser of what's to come. I'm also experimenting with my perspective and poses again. Wheeeeeee. I don't really like how her feet turned out but I'll be sure to do a more... in depth character study.

Helryx

- I had her on my list of bionicle characters to draw for a long, long time. To finally be able to get a cohesive design to go with her personality and overall look really brightens my day. Now in my canon Helryx is something quite similar to Tsunade in terms of being sensitive about her age and having a short-fuse temper (which is actually accurate to the Bionicle canon of Helryx itself). However the main trait I wanted to establish was that she's "Aged, but WELL aged.". You'd figure an ancient warrior of her ability would be able to keep at least some of her youth. Since Bionicles don't age the way humans do I did have fun trying to show that she is in fact older than she looks.

I kept specific facial marks in the right spots and molded a clean, water-elemental themed mask much like Gali and Nokama's. As for her current attire, this is not her battle armour. I need to make this extremely clear. This is Helryx' attire when on her leisure time as rare as that case may be. There's nothing wrong with her to at least try to look good. I will try to draw her again in fullbody with both sets of apparel. In my universe, after Makuta has been defeated, the Toa pic up some habits from the Glatorian of stripping down and wearing garments if possible. Their bodies eventually adapt to the atmosphere of Spherus Magna in bringing the organics out. This means more muscle and skin tissue. However in a time of hardship they will revert back to wearing their armour. I'm making sure Helryx's armour is scratched up and battered to all hell as it should be.

Unknown Female (Possible Syndicate Soldier?)

- I've been meaning to incorporate that hairstyle somewhere down the line. The question was what would I use it for? Well I'm still indecisive. So far I have this small not-so-detailed concept of an asian woman. Obviously I wasn't really pushing for personality in terms of posing as I just wanted to get the idea out there. That mask is completely improvised. I have no idea what it does or what it's for. Night/Thermal vision I guess? Whether that design will stay is up in the air. I wanted to give her different eyes as well. I'm not too keen on having six-faces-syndrome, a popular habit among anime/comic book artist. I assure you if this does end up becoming a character she will not be acting so cutesy as you see here.

Airman

- Ahhhh Airman. What do I say about this guy? I still haven't quite fleshed him out in a proper character study and I do hope to get around to it. The least I can do is use him as my poster boy for new takes on the hockey masks the Elites wear. I've been trying to get some kind of intimidating look to the masks. I even tried different eyes to coincide with the design as I want these to be "expressive" masks and not just plain-Jane stiff ones. The next down is just any generic form of an elite armour. I consider that the "barebones" of what a generic mook would wear. I'm still incorporating different mask designs to help tell them apart and a few armour changes as well for more specific elites that should get some decent amount of screen time.

Everything else is just some out-of-reference drawing or first shots at a few looks. The Maria head in my opinion is not my best at all. I don't like how the hair looks at that angle and even more so that I had to draw it from memory. Skullmageddon is a character I intend to put to paper fullscale one day. That Double Dragon baddie's one of the best villains of 2012 make no mistake.
