Added a bio!

Name: Midas Leavance.

Height: 3'01"

Species: Tunnel Scrub

Race: Deku Scrub

Age: N/A

Personality

Midas can be described as egotistical and cold on the outside, as well as ruthless and violent. He appears to be numb to most negative emotions. He's outwardly selfish and once had a reputation for philandering from time-to-time until he got a bit older; this habit often irritated his group, however.

Midas has an adamant spirit and will, and never sways from a decision once it's been made. This can be good or bad. His only other regularly shown emotion is his cockiness. He has a lot of self-reliance and thinks highly of his skills. This is fed by the deku of his era not normally having the dexterity to handle weapons and fight the way he could; this made him feel like one of the higher-ups of the deku society.

Regardless of his lack of visual emotions, he feels quite a lot. He cares the most for his group, which is like family to him. For those he is close to, he is a much different person. The people of his group see a much more open side of him that the outside world does not know exists; concern, love, and kindness. He'll drop anything to help one of them. One of his traits that one would not expect to see in him (upon knowing his dangerous ways) is his refusal to harm those of his own kind, nor the will to harm a lady unless he has good reason. He would only go against this code of honor if said deku truly deserves it or tries harming him first. And even in his philandering days, he never accepted any chance from a taken female. Some may say these sides of him are what he used to be reflecting onto the surface… For he hasn't always been as cold and uncaring as he ended up being.

He is observant and watchful of people. He is also watchful of surroundings no matter the place.

While he may seem cold and gritty most of the time, he does have a sense of humor around those he trusts and loves. As mentioned, he's much more open around his gang.

Strengths:

Midas is brutally skilled in up-close combat. His treasured possessions are his twin serrated daggers. He often holds them in the shape of an X. One of his attacks consists of crossing his arms and slashing an X across the opponent. This is his way of leaving his mark- his warning, on those he leaves alive.

He is quick and agile. He spent many years training himself for the outside world. His legs are strong as are his arms. Though being a tunnel deku also helps this, since they are naturally strong for digging tunnels and doing heavy work.

Midas is calculative and scans areas and people while being quick- always to find the best escape route and to usually find the weakspot on a foe.

He's very confident in his skills and remains positive about his goals; even though the goals themselves usually aren't so pure. He keeps on keeping on unless otherwise for good reason.

Midas' leaves are incredibly sensitive to the touch because of his tunnel deku status. And in his era, this was a heightened sense. This allowed him to read the air well and gave him the upper-hand in sensing differences in the wind. The whooshes of weapons and arrows were easily detected, allowing him good chance to react.

Weakness:

As mentioned, Midas would hesitate to hurt someone of his kind unless he saw good reason. This means another deku could easily try to fool him. However, that's not to say one wrong move from the other deku wouldn't cost them an arm or leg if he saw them deserving it truly.

Midas' leaves are, as mentioned, sensitive. Catching him roughly by the leaves could cause him to flinch and even cause extreme discomfort to the point that it could be unbearable.

Midas is only good with long distance via throwing his knives, and he only has two. He does not like spitting deku nuts, and usually wont.

He does not specialize in any other kind of weapon, and hand-to-hand combat is not his preferred battle style.

And while he can detect flying arrows, it's still hard for him to dodge and he must be purely focused. He has a hard time dodging weapons and attacks he has little knowledge in. His overconfidence can easily get him in a pinch with a situation like this. And he seems to lack the common sense to give up most of the time.

Him being as caring and concerned for his group as he is, means that harm to his group could force him to stop what he's doing. If he needs to, he'll drop everything. This can easily be used against him.

His overconfidence and cockiness can give him more courage than required, blinding him from seeing the downsides.

History:

Midas originated from a tunnel deku colony far from Termina. Some of his kind had migrated to Termina to live among the new-founded deku kingdom. They also hoped for a brighter future among a place where the deku are considered a bit less monster. Sadly, this was not the case. They quickly learned other races were not as accepting as they were hoping. Deku poaching and racism was around every corner; it was a rough world.

Once settled, Midas and his brother, Aegeus, lived on their own. They created a tunnel system around the swamp, allowing quick access to different parts. They lost their parents during the migration journey, thus forcing themselves to make do with each other. The brothers had things good though; their tunnels were secured and safe, and they were thriving well.

Midas looked up to his older brother, who taught him the ways of living the underground life and fending for themselves. The two brothers shared homes and each had a dagger if they needed. And while Aegeus had his own dagger for protection, he wasn't good with defending himself. Though he never needed to. His tunnel systems were so deep and complex that things wouldn't dare to follow him into them. The younger brother admired this amazing talent to build mazes.

During days when they did leave their tunnels, Midas was the one itching to adventure and travel, while Aegeus was nervous about being up on the surface. Midas wanted to see everything and learn about the creatures and people of the outside world. The young deku had hope that there were accepting people out there. No matter how much Aegeus warned him, Midas always had that drive to learn and move. The brothers had their differences at least, and it'd be these differences that'd separate them for the rest of Midas' life.

Aegeus was mercilessly yanked from Midas' life during a run across Termina field for supplies; therefore Midas lost his tutor, idol, and guidance. The two were jumped by human poachers and chased all the way back to the outside swamp borders. Midas made it, but Aegeus was not as fast and fell victim to a poacher just out of Midas' reach. He was witness to the horrors of poaching and their gruesome ways of killing. Midas holds a trauma of viewing the gruesome murder of his brother; treated like just another wolfos for the shop. Midas never forgot his brother's face in that final moment, nor the faces of the killers. This and having to thrive on his own was all it took for Midas' sense of morality to warp, which would over time, turn him into something hideous. All he had of his brother were his tunnels and his dagger. Midas ended up keeping the dagger, treasuring both weapons as a reminder that the world outside is unforgiving.

What remained of Midas' self-reliant years, he grew up cold and lonely, hating all humans and training himself. He was miserable by himself however. This turned into a habit of philandering with female deku in the village as he grew up, though he at least respected those with mates and left them alone. A partnership never lasted long, and he'd always end up alone again with a hole in his heart that could not be filled. It was a rinse and repeat cycle, and his twisted morals continued to warp. He finally couldn't handle it anymore. Being alone gave him time to think and remember, and he couldn't live with it. He left the woods to hunt down the killers. Their faces haunted his memories; he needed to get rid of them. And after weeks of searching, he found them, and he killed them- telling them they only get what they give... He surprise jumped them the same way they did to him and his brother, but Midas did not give them a chance to run.

By slaying these "monsters" for deku kind, this earned him some respect among the deku community. He continued this soon after, hunting poachers and running them out. It was during this that he developed a greed for stealing as well. He always stole the items off his victims, whether they got away or not. This evolved from doing good for his people to making a name for himself in history as Termina's first deku outlaw. He held no fear nor common sense to stay in the swamp, and this scared outside races.

He was still alone in all this, for other deku still respected him through fear. It wasn't until he came across a strange deku of Midas' body type that this all changed. The deku had pale blond leaves and one good eye- the other being scarred and gone. This scarred scrub showed up in one of Midas' tunnels one day, using it as a shortcut to get outside the swamp. Instead of being territorial, Midas was impressed and shocked to find someone brave enough to use his tunnel system. Seeing that the deku was alone, Midas offered the deku a place. He gave the fellow his trust rather quickly, seeing that he only had no place to go at this point. He also saw promise in the deku's skills for having snuck up on Midas the way he had. He could see he had been through a rough ordeal, and Midas was on level with him. Midas tossed the deku a hundred-worth rupee and they introduced themselves. Kaiser was the other one's name.

The two grouped together. Midas showed dedication to giving Kaiser a home, and the two were a valuable team. Kaiser had a past of his own that earned him fighting skill with his scythes, making him one to be feared as well. Midas eventually started calling Kaiser brother upon the time they spent together; for some reason, he didn't feel so miserable anymore, and he had a friend and brother again. The two did heists together and Midas' respect grew for Kaiser. Midas finally decided he knew what to do to better his lifestyle; he'd take in those who showed promise, those who were rejected by the world. He'd form the best team of rejects and give them all names to make a difference in Terminian history. And it was from here that Midas began adding members to his gang. His gang caused him to open up, at least. He was like a father and leader to them, and guided them. However, it's safe to say that Midas has been lead in the wrong direction by his goals...

Allies: Kaiser (he sees as a brother), Pyne (a four-eyed thorn-vined deku), The Twins/ Ichiro and Jiro (keatons), Danda-Lyn (Once was an adversary. Becomes future mate. She is a Tropical Acid Spitter)

Love interest: Danda-Lyn.

Talents: Singing (good stretched vocals are a natural tunnel scrub trait, usually for communicating in tunnels and finding mates), building, crafting.

I made a separate file to show his cursemark.   Will work on his bio soon.

He is handsome (so he thinks), but he gets in trouble *slapped*

lol 'Bout time I finished him. Good grief, he needed a colored ref. And look! He's not particularly blond, he has green leaves! And he has fabulous facial foliage. And the leaves on his legs are obviously throwbacks to Jace's pants xDD

Dang, his arm positions resemble those of Corvo Attano in Dishonoured. I mean, he actually looks cool that way.

I finally had a moment to read the entire bio I must say I love Midas' bio. It holds such an insight to this tunnel Deku's life! <3 I love how his choices were taken upon good nature but in the end turned bad due to choices made. I truly believe I have a better understanding of Midas now and I can't wait for his story to unfold in your new story! :3

Thank you~! <3
He is truly a turned around fellow with a lot of mistakes on his shoulders. He's gone through so much hurt that his moral compass just does not work. But he's not COMPLETELY bad, no? I can't wait to write for him in Fool's Gold <333

The one who started the whole curse that Jace was finally able to get rid of, no wonder Jace hates his very great granddad. I would too if I was in Jace's position.

Indeed! Midas has earned all the hate he gets from his descendants. Midas caused a lot of problems even after he was dead and gone.

Yet, I still like the character himself, he's so different xD
