This is a character I've had sence 2007, but he was a lot different, and his name was Eon.

Slate is making his debut in my comic, T.W.o.Z. (The Wrath of Zalamar)

Powers : He has no known elemental power's, But he does have the ability to summon his sword at anytime. Where his sword goes when he is not using it is believed to go back to it's pedistal in the old Ookami village remains.

Back story
-------------
Slate used to live in a small Mountain Village with his clan, The Ookami clan. He was born and raised there by his Parents, Lilly and Civon (pronounced: Se-von) and his older brother and sister, Zan and Lupay.
He had wonderful friend's as well. The person he held dear though was a girl named Cellia. She was his age, and was a kind girl. She and her folk's tended to the crop's of the viallage. She was sadly sick with an unknown desease at birth. Constent care and medication was needed to keep her on her feet. Slate was alway's by her side to help. He didn't know if she knew this or not, but he also had a crush on her.
When he was 11, a child came to his village. He was about 10, so he appeared. Slate and his family fed him... Though, this day was the last day Slate ever saw his family and clan.
The so-called "orphaned" child had turned into a monster. A demon, as Slate call's him.
The monster had that of demonic feature's, from the venomous serpent fang's, to his slick leathered wing's. His eye's were lit in a bright red. He spewed dark black fire and burned down the village, and violently slew anyone in it's path.
Slate attemped to stop the monster, but was slashed across the right eye, he was now blinded in one eye for the rest of his life, and gained the scar's he still wear's today.
Attacked more, he was left uncontous.
He soon awoke to find himself surounded by burning ashes, a smoke filled sky and to find the beast was gone.
He was beaten and battered.
He couldn't breath in the thick smoke, so he left still bleeding badly, but returned the next day. He'd returned... only to find nothing. Not a single animal, person, plant or house had servived the attack. And even his family and his house, everything was left in ashes. Slate fell to his knees in sorrow and cried for the loss of his village and family. "Cellia!?" He shouted. He'd scurried as fast as he could to what was her house... Left in burnt remain's, the house had fallen in, most likely taking her and her family with it. Slate felt defeated and crushed. He lost everything... "IT'S NOT FAIR!!!" He shouted, slaming his fist to the ground. Streak's marked his face where the tear's had fallen.

Soon, he spotted something glowing in the ashes and ruble in the center of the fallen village.
Slate slowly got back to his feet, still crying. He approached it uncovered the object, to find his clans sacred item, a powerful sword: Two Beast. It was large, and hard to hold onto. And made of pure stanless steel. It was said that it fell from the heaven's one fateful day. It's spoke of in legend to have fended off hundred's of demon's in the village's early day's by the clan's sacred warrior. Those who are not worthy to hold Two Beast, will be burned by the hilt. Slate was afraid to touch it, but he felt he should try, so he slowly reached for it and braced himself, and surprisingly found himslef holding the massive sword unharmed. It chose him as it's new bearer.

Slate figured he obtained the sword to slay off the Monster who killed his loved ones, and wounded him.

He travaled away and swore: "I will hunt him down til the day I die, that I swear!"
And to this day, he searches.......
