"I have seen seasoned naturalists, storied men of the most unflappable character; the kind of academics whose natural demeanor is as solemn as the grave and whose dour portraits make incoming students regret their decision to pursue higher learning; I have seen these men utterly fail to contain their guffaws and giggle like school children when stumbling across these little phallic joys. I count myself one of them, though I make no claims to titles or achievements. I am, I think it is safe to say--and known to all--a very wicked man."

A little excerpt from a make believe book about these types of plant/fungus/whatever I end up calling them. I should note, I didn't set out to make these look so obviously like penises, but while sculpting the one on the far right I realized I had not taken a step back and looked at it in a long time, because when I did I immediately realized what it looked like. So instead of discarding it I decided to make it something worthy of an anecdote to the hypothetical people of this world.

The models themselves were madein Maya, then shipped to Mudbox for sculpting, then to substance painter for more detail and textures, then back to Maya where I added subsurface scattering, and finally rendered with Arnold.
