Description
"I love you - against my better judgment!"--Mr Darcy
~~
Full view might be better, I think...
Feeling in the mood for sappy illustrations after reading and re-reading "Cyrano de Bergerac", and listening to "Loch Lomond" a few too many times, I finally decided to pull this out of the in-progress pile and finish it! I think I'm pretty happy with the result - at least I'm finding likenesses easier to achieve.
This is Kiera Knightly and Matthew McFayden as Elizabeth Bennet and Mr Darcy in the movie of "Pride and Prejudice".
Mr Darcy is one of the many characters of literature I've fallen in love with
I am a sap.
Several of my friends will know this from the "cheesy romance!" conversations

That's very sweet. (I hope that doesn't sound feeble; it isn't meant to.) You have multiple versions of "Loch Lomond" on your iTunes playlist???!!! I don't have any on there unfortunately. But I do like that song. I'll have to sing it now. Bother - now you've got the angel of music singing songs in my head.

Thank you! That doesn't sound feeble - men can be romantic too you know!
I sing Loch Lomond quite often when no one is around (I can't sing well.. but as I said, no one's around). That and "Red is the Rose", and "Black is the Colour". I'm generally obsessed with folk songs. A lot of sappy ones too, by the looks of things..
The Feddigans have a rather good version of Loch Lomond on iTunes. They're a German band that sings Irish and Scottish folk songs; I have several of theirs on my playlist. They also sing "Star of the County Down", which is one of my current song obsessions..
"And the angel of music sings songs in my head.." Never a bad thing!

Haven't seen the movie but I've seen this in the trailers, I think. The likenesses are amazing

I didn't even know there was a movie of this until I found it on TV one day. Then I was obsessed

i hated this movie at first, having read the book and having seen the A&E version about 100 times...however, on further viewing, there are parts of this new version that do, indeed, take my breath away, one being, just before this, where he walks across the field to her...a long, lovely stroll...
this is a beautiful moment...well done!

Thank you! The walk across the field was a wonderful one.. also the scene in the rain (in which comes the "better judgment" quote). I also liked the scene at the ball where he is talking to her but pretending not to love her, and when she says "What do you suggest?", he replies, "Dancing", just as she had said in the beginning. And for a moment everyone else in the room disappears, as if they are the only two there. I thought that was a very good effect for the scene.

i agree with you....oh, and when they lean toward each other in that rain scene...is that what you are talking about? almost like they know they love each other, and yet...can't...quite...
oh, so romantic...painfully so! perfectly so...

I refuse to watch the movie. Mr. Darcy does not fit the version in my head and if I watch it, my version might be gone forever!
Plus, the book is always better.

That's generally the case.. books are better. Movies never manage to capture the full idea, under their time limit..
I hate having my character images destroyed!! That doesn't always happen, but when it does.. aaahh!!
