It's finally here! The next Featherscape book release is here, and it is none other than the beloved story called Trapped in the Featherlands (or Monsters of the Featherlands on DA), the first book in the Featherlands series! I am so excited to be sharing this with you all! This story has been with me for years. It has seen me through my transitional phases as a writer. It has given me some of my most beloved characters. It has been read over 180,000 times over on Wattpad and probably around the same here on DA. It has launched into a sequel, CYOA spin-offs, roleplays, so much has come from this story. It is my baby series, I love it so much!

And now, you can experience it all again with cleaner edits (which it desperately needed) plus an entire 25,000 word side story, a prequel to the events of this one that goes into the backstory of the fairy queen Deidra as she embarks on her own adventure with her friends Evabelle and Nysadia. Thank you so much to everyone who's supported me and this series over the years! Revisiting it so personally has reminded me what's so special about it. It's far from perfect, but it is the imperfection in it that means so much to me. I started this story very early in my writing career. In editing it, while I did spend a considerable amount of time cleaning up spelling errors and technical typos, I was also determined to rewrite whole sections or rework areas that I felt reflected that immaturity in my techniques. However, I abstained from a lot of that. I could have picked apart this story every which way but North, but I also wanted to preserve that same amateur charm within it. It reminds me where I've been and how far I've come as a writer. As tempting as it was to 'fix everything', I didn't want to erase those elements of who I was when I was first starting out. So no, it may not be perfect in the grand scheme, but it is that imperfection that makes me love it so much, that makes it perfect to me. Thank you all for sticking by me and the story despite all of our many wonderful imperfections! 🩷
