I see you everydayAll around me
I call out, plead, and say
And yet you stay
Stuck in your roles
Archetypes without souls
Fulfilling all our stereotypes
Erasing individuals with apathetic wipes
You're drinking 'cause it's cool
Doing drugs 'cause it's fun
You're shattering your abstinence 'cause "that's how love's done"
You're living up to their worst expectations!
Can't you see what you've done to your own generation?
I'm sick of your cycle!
Sick of your hate!
I'm sick of the prejudice you love to create!
Sick of ambitions so shattered by sins
My yell for a change being drowned in the din!
The pattern's been made
We've been set up to fall
Their intricate traps keep us pinned to the wall
Do you sway to the rhythmic delusions they spin?
Their opinions, not yours, softly pulse deep within
A dance so seducing
Their music's caress
Step soft toward the glitter of empty success
The beat drives you forward, just go with the flow
Or step out.

Eh. Sometimes I feel like my poetry seems forced or cliche. Prolly why I'll stick to prose.
