Description This is a good tutorial for any holiday shoppers out there who got a gift card for somebody and want a way to make it a bit more personal. You can make a little hand made pocket for it to go in. Or if you've drawn sketch cards for people then a card pocket is a fun way to give it to them. Or if you're just a lover of little pockety envelopish things then you can make a ton of them and swim around in them like Scrooge McDuck in a vault of gold.

This is the first tutorial I've done that's gone in this gallery and not my coloring gallery, since all my other tutorials have been coloring related (and can be found here if you're interested). I'll have to make at least one more so that this one doesn't feel lonely.

I was just browsing through tutorials and saw this. I think this is a really sweet idea that could possibly even work for office organizing but perhaps your would need sturdier paper? I'm not too sure, but this is very cute nonetheless.

I'm glad to see people are liking this tutorial

I think for office organization it'd probably be easier to buy pre-made folders and then decorate them to get the fun personalization aspect. Unless they were for small or strangely sized things. Then maybe a custom pocket/folder would be good.

it makes me very sad that no one has commented on this yet.
this is such a neat idea!
so cute, too.

it makes me want to make a board with all kinds of these all over it!
or put these in every card that i send to someone with something extra special in it.

I never expect any comments, which makes it extra good when I get some. Especially when they're good comments like yours. And by "good" I don't just mean positive but comments with actual substance.

The card pockets do get pretty impressive when there's a bunch of them together. I've been brainstorming ways to incorporate some of them into some paintings.

this deserved a comment.

they're such a cool idea!
simple, too.
i mean, instead of sending Christmas cards or something, you could give these out to people.
or make a scrapbook full of them.
hah, i just may have to steal this little idea from you!
paintings?

The original idea actually came from little pockets I got that were made for scrapbooking, but the size wasn't exactly what I wanted so I decided to make my own.

Yeah, paintings. I've been planning to get back into painting lately and I kind of like the idea of having interactive paintings that people can come up and investigate. Like have little things inside pockets on the painting. Maybe attached with string, though, to discourage people from taking them

oh, how interesting!
that would be really cool, actually.
i'd certainly like to see what was in them.
haha, strings or maybe a piece of ribbon.
